Involvement by Ferrari in submitting all manner of footage, reasoning, drawings etc have helped the bid by Renault to have their revolutionary mass damper system confirmed as allowable to fail. The internal damper device has been judged to be an "aerodynamic device" despite being on the inside of the car.
Once again, those who watch F1 here and there wont notice but this is getting near the limits of jokes where Ferrari's cuntiness is involved.
Ferrari had developed a similar device but couldn't get it to work properly and so proceeded to make sure no-one else could benefit from it by seeding doubt over it's legality on the odd grounds that it was a movable aerodynamic device, which are banned in F1.
Top technical critics liken this to banning engine pistons (which move, obviously) as they make the car move forward and therefore are part of an aerodynamic feature. Likewise, the steering wheel causes the turning of a car which ultimately aids aerodynamic performance - thus should be banned under the rules.
