What little oddities and plugins do people have running that make life a little bit better?

Trillian/IE/firefox plugins, etc?

One of mine would definitely be the improved alt-tab functionality in Power Tools!

i have this thing called 'powermenu' which allows you to minimise any application down into the system tray rather than just the taskbar

i used to have so many things like that installed at the moment i have none though

used to have samurise, was a great monitoring tool, just sat transparent on my desktop. got all the messengers installed and p2p programs. also have a dc++ hub running using Yoshi, great program
