Alonso takes away his title to make him the the person to win back-to-back drivers' titles.

Renault also won the constructors title, denying Ferrari any small satisfaction to end the season and Schumy's driving career with them.

2007 - predictions?

Button - will talk again about challenging for the title despite being closer than ever to being a has-been. He has almost no chance of having any important impact at all.

Kimi - will he gel with the Ferrari way?

Alonso - will rule the roost again... McLaren have a fast car - but can they iron out their reliability issues for once?

Massa - will achieve nothing - maybe a win here and there because of other's bad luck.

Renault - can Fisi actually step up to the plate now please! I would hate for him to have yet another mediocre year.

Redbull - with Coulthard and Webber and an Adrian Newey designed car will they be the dark horse?

Kimi and Alonso will challenge the title for mine, and i dont think ive seen enough from Fisichella this year to make him a title contender. Massa and Button will hopefully do well, Button will need a fast and reliable car to do it.
MS drove a fantastic race i thought, not many drivers would have had the bottle and the speed to come from dead last to 4th in 3/4's of a race. Had he started on pole, MS would have blitzed everyone.....

Notwithstanding Ferrari made him a special engine just for that race and Bridgestone made some special tyres also.. For Schumy to win and Alonso to come nowhere was a very tall order from the start. The bad luck MS had yesterday was just that.. some back luck was well overdue by average F1 standards... you can onl drive a fast car so long without something going wrong.

indeed, all you have to do is look back to alonso's blow up and the indy tyre fiasco, and say the score is even...

I think that Massa could be a dark horse next year with what 2 years at Ferrari? (One driving, one testing).

He will know the cars, and the team, will Ferrari impose a first and second driver, or just have a free for all?

I've always thought Massa was quite fast but ragged, he does seem to be maturing now though.

Renault could struggle with Fisi and Heidi there, I almost expect Heidi to out perform Fisi even as a rookie.

RobW I think its time you gave Schu his dues. So bitter despite Alonso winning. Razz

Where is this bitterness? Schumy is an alltime great. I just happen to follow the game more closely I guess and see more of it for what is is and has been in the recent years. FIA have lost tons of support in the past year, notably from ex-drivers and potential sponsors who don't want to see F1 going down the road it has been going. I think it's safe to say FIA have taken note and realised their errors. You can't keep screwing the exact people who are the reason you earn so much money - eventually they'll tell you where to go.

Flavio Briatorre, Ron Dennis etc have done a great job despite many many totally biased set-backs over the years... and I think, given this year's complaints we'll see a more separate judicial system in F1 shortly.

Schumy, legend. Flawed at times especially when under pressure, but the results do stack up for him. Can't argue with that.

Yup I meant Heikki.

God that is embarrassing, my mind was somewhere else yesterday.

You read F1 Racing mag eh Rob? Did you see the long interview with Briatore this month?

Sometimes read it.. it's usually six weeks out of date though. The Briatorre interview was pretty funny. He's bang on with most of what he says I think esp regarding the perception that people are beginning to have of F1's juduciary and it's lack of impartiality.

I was also surprised that McLaren didn't give him a couple of days leeway before they announced Alonso's signing.. seems weird not to extend that courtesy. Perhaps he pissed Ron Dennis off around then over something.
