would be cool to see everton but, will it be financially worth it for them to come down?

Thank fuck it's not Man United at least. Mad

Everton are touring through Australia so a simple trip across the tasman wouldn't do them any harm...

wont happen, unless theres a third match.

1.2mill or whatever it will cost will be to much for the nix to cover if it bombs.

i dont think you'd get 20,000+ willing to pay $90ish for a ticket (maybe for everton, but not fulhum anyway)

id prob still go thou

from the herald...

Football fans looking forward to seeing Everton play here may be out of luck.

A proposed match between the Wellington Phoenix and the English Premier League side appears to be dead in the water.

Phoenix CEO Tony Pignata met with Everton's commercial manager overnight, but the two parties were not able to agree on dates for the proposed tour. He says while Everton are keen on a pre-season three game Australian tour, the Phoenix only have a small window of time.

"July 18 our pre-season tour starts. Just talking with Everton, they'd want to come towards the end of July, which may not fit. We don't want to bring out a team that's not going to have their first team players available. If they can't do that then we'll pass."

Everton are in the FA Cup semi-finals and are sixth in the Premier League.

Pignata says the fate of the match will be decided in the next week or so. He is having talks with Fulham on Monday, but does not think they would be as big a drawcard as Everton.

oh well it's quite true if they won't bring out a near first team full squad, why bother?
