ENTER OZ WITH WARRANT IN NZ

Hey, i got a few fines when i was in nz for a working holiday, anyway, i didnt pay, sold the car and left the country becausei only had 4 days left in nz. now im going on a working holiday to oz in summer and i was wondering if this could have any impact on my visa, or could i even be red flagged? i should say that i am european and also live in europe. i came up with this question on the lonely planet forum but everybody told me how much of a dick i am to not pay my fines just fuck off, so if you feel like this please keep it to yourself and dont bother posting anytihng. thanxxx

oh yea this was about a year ago and the fines were for not wearing a seatbelt, driving too slow lol and they said i crossed the centerline, what i can not recall but what is your voice worth against that of a cop? its 450 $ in total, but i got a few letters with additionial fees and stuff

OZ don't do NZ police checks, so you should be fine from that perspective. (well at least from an employment perspective).

i know that oz isnt that hard on traffic fines but little aotearoa seems to be quite keen on getting people that dodge traffic infringements ?? and i might be entering nz again next year as welll, what can i expect?

If the system works like they say it does, you'll probably be flagged when trying to leave NZ again. Maybe even on re-entry if the outstanding debt has gone through the courts and you now have a failing to appear warrant.

If I were you, I'd bring enough cash when entering NZ when you come for a visit to cover the fines plus the extra charges. I'm pretty sure they pick up on it when you leave NZ because there have been TV ads about it and you have to pay the outstanding fines on the spot at the airport, or you can't leave. So they may pick up on it when you enter the country as well.

I don't think they'd pick up on it when entering or leaving Australia but the smart thing to do would be to have enough cash on you to pay them just in case. I doubt you would get arrested or anything, it would just be a matter of paying on the spot.

Aussie only care about an actual criminal conviction...unpaid fines isn't jack from shit...but as mentioned, be wary on re-entry to NZ...your $450 could be upwards of $1000 now with fees and court costs if they did try and summons you to court to pay them

hi there iv lived in NZ on a work permit but left with out paying my debt i want to go back to pay it up 2date as im going back permanently can i still use my bank account and can i pay them when i enter will i be blocked at immigration thanks

Check with the Police I'd say would be your best bet

Bank account : surely you have online banking and you can log in and check if its active still that way. That issue is completely independant of fines however. The bank may have closed your account due to inactiviity.

Fines : Chances are if it was going to be a cause for concern then as long as you are able to pay at the time it would not be an issue.

You haven't mentioned your country of origin but I'm assuming you need some sort of pre granted Visa to enter New Zealand wouldn't wouldn't be revoked in the instance of above.

Here is a crazy idea... how about being responsible and paying your debt in the first place?
