End of the Weak
EOW is a new refreshing way for rappers to compete. It takes a step back from battling and disrespecting each other to find its champ.
We have seen the battle circuit for years. While battles can be funny, they are not always the best measuring stick of a true MC's skills. Let's be honest... often battle MCs are comedians over hip-hop beats, not hip-hop artists.
So we envisioned a unique competition that truly tests even the most talented MCs... one without the B.S. In the MC Challenge, contestants compete in five rounds: Beat Juggling, Written's, Acapella's, Cypha's, and everyones favorite: The Freestyle Grab Bag.
1st Round – Written Verse – 60 seconds over music of competitors choice
2nd Round – Acapella Verse – 60 seconds over no music
3rd Round – Freestyle Bag – Competitor uses 5 random objects in freestyle verse
4th Round – Beat Juggling – Competitor must rock with the DJ over 3 random beats
5th Round – Cypha Skills – 2 competitors go back and forth for 4 bars each, 3 times.
As this is the first year for EOW New Zealand there is a competition for the finals. The city with the most people at the regionals gets the finals in their city. Two competitors from each region will go to the nationals and the winner of the nationals will go to the world finals. The worlds are in London in early November.
