[quote]
hahha nice one upbats: its like deja vu here, sleep would be good sometime today.

Quote of the night: "JUST WARMING UP!"
[quote]
i didnt really get into it until the second half of ed rush.... until then i was a bit dissapointed... was stoked to hear metro sound, lk, shake it, grimey and others. Was that thugged out bitch he played?
Was also really impressed by rhyme tyme.. thought he was really good... didnt talk too much shit and you could hear what he was saying Smile
[quote]
he played that nu dillinja dub with the fred durst sample! tune! hehe

hes got a few flash dubs ed rush has Smile
[quote]
FYI. Optical arrives today.

It was out of our hands, but sure y'all enjoyed yourselves anyways Razz

[quote]
arrrgghh... bastards..... your all bastards.... jealous of the rest of the country who get to see the duo..... bastards Razz
[quote]
ed rush more than rinsed it fo me Very Happy

definatly feeling his track selections last night, not only was there the trademark virus sound but also some very tasty dubs thrown in for good measure.
[quote]
nice. fuck i am looking forward to seeing these guys rip it up on saturday... man, like you wouldn't believe!
[quote]
oooo ... the aniticipation.
[quote]
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha 8 hours to go!!!!
[quote]
Wooooooooooow! It was a very intense night! Fuckn awseome!
[quote]
Yeah, sweet night indeed.

Kinda annoying for me personally though that the set played by the boyz was almost exactly the same as several sets that I have from their recent tour to the states.

ed rush optical and rhymetyme - live at the seminar 01 24 2002
and
Ed Rush + Optical feat. MC Rymetyme - New Orleans (USA) Mardi Gras

The opening mixes are all the same . I don't really mind DJ's doing this, it's obvious from the amount of gigs they do they'd have a set pretty well down, just was abit dissapointing on the night to know pretty much exactly what was going to happen next :/

Mighty biggups to the local lads though, fucken serious smashers going down once the virus kru had finished. Seemed to me like they had more dubz that the headliners! Can this be tru? Very Happy
[quote]
LOL! it most certainly can... sounds reminiscent of J Majik in 2001 - Dude dropped about 2 dubs :O
[quote]
big ups pots n presha eh, awesome set! the virus tour was complete madness... yeah
[quote]
then maybe u don't know your dubs to well, cos im most def. sure that ed rush was packing some lethal shit, most of the nu dillinja (even the one with the fred durst sample that bryan gee didn't have) and some flashy shit like the phantom audio remix of Optical's "to shape the future" and all the nu virus tracks that went down a storm...

if u want to talk about tedious mixes lets have a werd about marky dropping "the nine" and "4 days" in EVERY mix i've heard of his Razz~
[quote]
fark I didn't know that Welly didn't see Optical....

It seems a little cynical playing the same set everywhere u go on tour, wouldn't it get boring?

It was a good night tho, and big ups to Presha, his set was the biznezz.
[quote]
wicked shit. ryme tyme made my night.

1,2 check the virus crew.
[quote]
That was dope.

I loved Ed Rush & Optical, MC Rymetyme was beyond comprehension, I was lookin over the tables from the floor almost the entire set.

48 and Riddle layed it down, Nothing like d & b at fu.
[quote]
Yeah that was a mint night %}

the quality of all the dj's was tops

great night had by all of the people at fu
[quote]
was wicked as usual 4 virus crew...until I lost my memory Sad
[quote]
Another tearin' night courtesy of the virus kru, loads of wicked tracks with Rymetyme all class over the top of them.

Thought their set could've been a little longer, but the locals were the shit too so no complaints here.

Can't wait for virus tour 2003
[quote]
straight up chief, I'm buying a ticket the second they go on sale, but hopefully we won't have too wait that long.
[quote]
Danjah, that Dillinja dub definately didn't get played up here (the one with Durst in it). I was fairly fucken boozed, but I was still listening hard the entire time for any of those new ones. Not sure about the Phantom Audio (?) rmx of to shape the future..

Just got the feeling like the Virus lads haven't progressed as much as many of the others we've had thru. Mixing was fucken tight 'n all, and Rhyme Tyme is a damn good MC.. maybe I'm just bad buzzin' because of the whole 'heard it all before' thing? Or maybe I'm just fucked off I didn't get to hear 'thugged out bitch'? Very Happy
[quote]
that to shape the future rmx is an optical VIP - they just nick the remote control break so it sounds like phantom audio *apparently*

we got the fred durst (isit really him?) dillinja tune as well as "just warmin up"..
[quote]
whats the dillinja that has a pretty standard breakdown, with a chick wailing.... ??
and had bass really similair to grimey that you know pitches up ??

NEED TO KNO
[quote]
Is the 2003 tour confirmed?
[quote]
Er... probably not yet, but ive been to them 3 times in consecutive years so i can see a pattern.
[quote]
Are they confirmed for 2003?

Spend your time worrying about shit in 2002!!

True playerz! Very Happy
[quote]
Hold on the now SadAt

Are you saying that Hype, Zinc etc are touching down here soon. Go on, dont be a tease, the people have a right to know.
[quote]

[quote]

[quote]
danj you little busy body Razz
[quote]
well i know of an unknown guest playing at valve tonight Razz
[quote]
Well Danjah

Now that you've got our attention...
[quote]
Saturday was awesome.

Now it is tuesday and I feel decidedly antisocial.
Work sucks. So any news that would restore my vibrant grin would be much appreciated
[quote]
upbats: if its teebee no one cares Very Happy

chief: hold tight, in the mean while grooverider confirmed for may and the almighty pots is bringing our cause 4 concern for some bogan metal dnb vibes Very Happy hehe
[quote]
chief, not up to me to break that sort of news.. but watch out for an announcement VERY soon!
[quote]
Yeah, knew bout the mighty rider. Missed him last year but im a guranteed front row centre for this time.

OK then, back to the waiting game
[quote]
also in the pipe lines is andy c in nov or oct , total science??, bailey with mc talie and fierce for starters Very Happy all the promoters keeping busy just for us! wooohooo
[quote]
and others... Razz
[quote]
Stick Juju on that list too Razz
[quote]
upbats: oh god not L Double or spikey T! Razz~
[quote]
hehehehehhehehhe.... nope Razz... i was thinking joker crew.. or 'da lick' Razz
[quote]
Oi!

Spikey Tee ( if its the same guy im thinking of ) aint that bad when he sticks to his Dub/reggae styles ala Blood and Fire Soundsystem.

But yeah, keep him away from DnB. The only dub artist ive heard who can do DnB well was the Mad Professor last year. Mind you, im pretty sure he could make polka tunes that would sound good, legend that he is.
[quote]
ANDY C - did I read that properly??? FARK someone get that in OCTOBER. OCTOBER puleeeeeeaze....
[quote]
mmm mad prof.. is legend.....
[quote]
Very true, mad professors dnb stuff was cool.

I also think Lee Scratch Perry could make awesome dnb if he put his rather twisted mind to it...
[quote]
Yup yup Lee Scratch has produced some wikkid tracks based around breakbeats.

Hey Bn1, how bout Mad Professor laying down the tracks with the mighty Lee Scratch MCing?

Me thinks that would be VERY intersting
[quote]
prolly been done before.. hasnt mad prof had the most releases ever??? he's put out a huge amout of tunes....
[quote]
I think the Mad prof may have produced the most tracks ever, I think its upwards of two thousand.

Hes also done stacks of collaborations with Lee Scratch, but i haven't heard any that i'd call drum and bass. If anyone does know of any in that style, post the track/album name as i'd love to hear it.
[quote]
I will see all of the above if they come.

Tuesdays are kinda average.
[quote]
tuesdays are kinda average???
[quote]
I'm at work.
Buzz from weekend worn off, week stretches ahead.
Just made some wicked plans for friday tho, so it's on the up & up.
[quote]
ok this is a list with *no* insider info - just deduced from a bunch of subtle hints from promoters on various boards Razz so noone go off at me if it aint 100% right

Zinc - sometime in next few months (woop woop!)
Cause 4 Concern - May
Total Science - June
Bailey & MC Tali - Middle of the Year, July????
Andy C & MC GQ - October <<<-- BO!
Matrix & Fierce - September
[quote]
one concern i have is the there is still no confirmed date for mickey finn included in these lineups?

New zealand is long overdue for a tour from this baddest of badmans. even after a decade of smashing every rave he goes near, mickey finn remains one of the heaviest djs in jungle drum&bass music. it is a farce that noone has brought out the mighty mickey in the last couple of years.
[quote]
Didn't he play at Nomanby Rd of all places a few years back?
[quote]
mickey finn played for thunderground late 2000, it was a flop, they then followed it with the massive aphrodite tour a couple of months later
[quote]
Welly Headz take note .... Storm 15 March, Zinc April 5, Rider early May!

and a couple of blazing locals in between March 31 DJ Pots will be in town for a special Easter Sunday BF session and also look out for Shapeshifters farewell tour late April b4 they jet to Melbourne to try and take their sound to the global stage

[quote]
Mickey finn.. the baddest of badmen? Are you serious??

btw - Zinc ( Certified badman ) in April. not confirmed, etc.
[quote]
ok i take that back. looks like dawg has dates..

[quote]
you dont get a nick name like PUSSY CLOT for nothing!!!!!!!!!!
[quote]
Mickey Finn did not flop?
What the fuck?? I was their and Normandy was packed out?
Were you there?
[quote]
the guys who put it on told me they lost big $$$

i was in Welly
[quote]
actually dont quote me on zinc, its not 100% yet
[quote]
u have to excuse toasted, he went to otago for a weekend and came back preaching the badness of a 50 yo has been dj, poor bastard....
[quote]
come on acorn ... you have to come!!!
[quote]
oh renn ermmm inside info from my mates back home are sending me towards going to it.. not sure yet, i'll get in touch with the UK geezer...
[quote]
is zinc going to do chch aswell as welly and auk ? he fucking caned last year ... definetly one of my top 5 raves from 2001.
[quote]
WELL EYE NO THAT HE IS COMIN TO SYDNEY END OF THE MONTH... Smile THAT IS ZINC Smile
