FRIDGE NOT TO CLOSE!

After intense speculation, we can exclusively reveal the plans for The Fridge after it's sale has finally been negotiated. The club has been bought by the owners of the Fire Club in Vauxhall. The club will close after Logic on the 30th January and re-open after a month's extensive redecoration work on the 29th February after Hard House Academy. This will be a preview opening with TWIST holding a special post HHA afterparty. Twist will not open at Fire on this day.
As with the reopening of The Viaduct as Fire, the club will be a 'work in progress' after reopening as it is significantly improved and redeveloped throughout.
Craig, one of the new owners says "The new company will have substantial backing and massive financial clout. This will enable us to create a serious record label and DJ agency as well as run our own in house parties at our own venues. Putting it quite simply a major new power house is just about to erupt in London and the biggest beneficiary will be the clubber. The clubber is at the heart of everything we do. "
Here's how the club's events schedule is shaping up:
The official re-launch is on March 6th with a press launch at 9.00pm. The first 100 people through the door will get in for FREE. Normal opening hours are 10.00pm to 5.00am with a special bus service between Blast and Twist.
Saturday Nights will be a weekly event called Blast, sharing the Twist residents Ian M, Karim, the *Ting*, Danny Gilligan, Peter Ward and Lady Bianca. There'll be a high profile star DJ brought down every week from around the UK to bolster the lineup as well as regular high levels of production. Anne Savage has been confirmed as the headline DJ for the launch.
Friday Nights will see 4 residents each week of the month taking over the Fridge. The new owners are looking to bring in 2 of London's biggest hard dance promotions under the fold alongside 2 major out of town promotions. Expect an announcement in the next week or two as to who these names will be.
On those months that have a 5th Saturday night plans are afoot to make this an as yet unnamed trance spectacular with some major household names being lined up to play.
One thing that the new owners were keen to point out is that Friday and Saturday nights will remain straight / mixed at The Fridge as opposed to shifting to a gay only policy.
Twist promoter Steve says "I understand that there has been a lot of conjecture about the future of the Fridge. I can give all you clubbers my assurance that we will not only continue its future as a hard dance venue but will transform this World famous venue into THE place to be on a Saturday night with the most breathtaking production."
