The latest compilation on M_nus sees Dubfire from Deep Dish join the minimal stable. 'EXPANSION / contraction' is out in November.

Following on from his recent minimalist hit 'Ribcage', Dubfire's defection from progressive house to minimal techno seems complete with his arrival on Richie Hawtin's M_nus stable. The comp also has new tracks from regular M_nus crew members: Gaiser 'Mute' is taken from the same sessions as his forthcoming double pack 'Eye Contact' , while Marc Houle follows up his comedy-minimal hit 'Techno Vocals' with 'Porch'. The CD comes with an extra track, Troy Pierce 'Oxytocin'.

'EXPANSION | contraction' comes in a limited edition double vinyl format with an embossed sleeve and black/white vinyl.

Interesting... bit like Josh Wink's turn to the darkside.

needs more fleetwood mac vox

He was always the more edgy of the two Deep Dish guys, especially in DJing. Sharam the more crowd-pleaser, Ali/Dubfire the more futuristic/purist.

Shot! His recent productions are awesome! Ribcage is disturbingly sick! Love it!

his essential mix from two weeks ago, is deep nasty minimal and prog, absolutly love it. my highlight was: Robbie Rivera 'Float Away [Dubfire's Casaplex Remix]

Would have freaked out a few of the lola's thinking they gonna be listening to a Deep Dish mix. Laughing

Dubfire is still one of the top of my must see dj list.

Smith & Selway - Transit Time (Dubfire remix)

Awesome tune. Really digging most of his productions at the moment, don't really care what you call it, it just rocks.

hmnmm yeah there is a lot of wicked low frequency bass driven tracks appearing out there eh some of them go a bit far and become pretty much distortion though, guess it depends how good the producer is at layering the sound and what not.

Only problem is you have to be real careful when and where you play that stuff cos if you try and pump it out on an inadequate system your left looking a bit silly.

Probably never a problem for Dj's like dubfire though eh.
