Drugs query - HELP?|

Hi guys, I've got a query if anmyone can help me. I've got a query about speed, e, and trips. In the last year i've been a typical experimental younmg person and I'd decided not to go there anymore but i've got a new job and they randonm drug test. How long does the stuff stay
in your system?|?|?|

Not sure - I've always waited a month B4 donating blood but I don't know if that's even right.

Amphetamines are only in your system about a week - give it two.

Pot - over a month for THC levels to be non traceable

E - not sure, suppose it depends what it is laced with

does anyone know if there are tests that can be done anywhere other than
work?|?|

did you sign an employment agreement to say you agreeded to a blood test?

You could go and donate blood to check or get the doctors to check for you as they have to keep confidential.

hmmm... go get a doctor to blood test you and then if ok sign the contract. if it is urine test you are prob sweet for everything except pot (THC)

Just remembered you can trace e in your fingernails and hair... yeah like they are going to check that!!

There was something about this in the enhanced section and someone gave the thread http://www.guidance.net.nz/article.php?article_id=204 which sums it up nicely. The article suggested is useful information for urine testing (you could possibly have a crippling fear of blood/needles which would prevent blood test?). Like MissLeopard said 48 - 72 hours is the norm apart from Cannabis which is a pretty bloody long testing period.

Depends what test they do but ussually only up to 48 hours. They are highly unlikely to random test for anything other than speed(e is under this catagory), cannibis and opiates (+ Sometimes Cocaine) There are hair and fingernail tests that can detect past use but heyre arent as accurate.

Typically speed/ opiates will be out of your system in 24 - 48 hours.

What does the job involve? Police?

Yeah, is there any place other than working for The Police that would need to check for this? Is this even legal under the Human Rights Commision in NZ?!

I know if your are not performing as you should because of drugs, then you are in a way stealing from your employer, but I really dont think they should be allowed to test for drugs!

I guess a lot of people are on a salary these days... if you dont get every thing done in the time it should have taken you because you had the Tuesday blues... then you should work more later in the week or something!

I don't think it's very legal, however, there is ways to entrap a person into taking them.

Only jobs that you're forced to, are the Police and defence forces.

all jobs at the airport also require a drug test thesedays as well.

tho my brother failed his test there and still got the job.

best bet is to ask your doctor. he/she will be quite happy to explain this in great detail to you.

It's for an Accountants job! Shocking aye. But yes it is legal there is a new Employers Drug Act which is out and goes on about all this kind of thing in it. Cheers for your comments.
