Drinkies again this Thursday for anyone who's keen, the last one @ O'Neills was fun, so we thought we'd organise it again,

our crew should be down from 7.30 onwards, & if anyone needs to eat, they do good pubs meals down their 2-4-1
[quote]
Myself and yeah but... are keen

And I recommend their steak and guiness pie, yum! Very Happy
[quote]
no impersonations this time though, okay...?

Mr. Green
[quote]
Who did impersonations?
[quote]
Well, I'd been back in the UK a week when the last one was on, and Greenie at Steve Lawler was a bit of a talking point at the last O'Neills drinks... and i can think of at least a couple of people who did impersonations... one of whom's biggie name started with a P _ _ _.

But yeah, i'll be there!

Very Happy
[quote]
i think my impersonation was better....

it was a mix of this Shocked and this Very Happy
[quote]
sounds like it could be my first night out in london Smile

umm... but how do i get there? Confused Very Happy
[quote]
U got a phone yet? Text me 07966 666 647
[quote]
nah, no phone... only arrived 5 hours ago Very Happy
[quote]
Confused 5 hours and you stil don't have a phone Confused

Laughing Laughing
[quote]
haha yeah, well i'm pretty slack...

btw, what are the best plans, providers etc?
[quote]
go O2 (only cos it's cheaper for me to ring you Wink)

central line to ealing broadway not far from there and we can pick you up

my number 07708743670
[quote]
Hmmm... pretty similar really. All of the main plans between providres seem pretty similarly priced, it really all depends which week u go into the shop as to who is running the best "special" that week.

However, you might find if you're new to the UK you will struggle to get a plan if you have no credit history, no job and can provide english bank statements for the last 3-months, in which case you will be "pay-as-you-go" (which is british for "pre-pay") for a while.

ah cool... that's pretty easy..... ok, well if someone meets me at the station, i should be sweet
[quote]
My recommendation about phones. Don't go with Siemens phones. Don't go with Vodaphone.

So O2 is prob the best option as Orange is usually more expensive (although check out their deals).

If you have a UK credit-card they can do some tricky things to get past the credit history thing...
[quote]
like what, TM?
[quote]
Me and Stu will probably be keen for this..

Be good to see you Mutant- hope your first day is not too stressful! Very Happy
[quote]
Wave hey mutant!

Glad to see you made it safe and sound. Hope you aren't too jetlagged.

And spike, my impersonation was waaaaaay better than yours Razz
[quote]
There is only one way to resolve this disagreement about who's impersonation was better...

On thursday, after we've all had a few beers, we should all go round the table and those who were present for Steve Lawler can have a turn doing a Greenie impression. After a bit of group discussion and a final vote, we should be able to crown a chief Greenie-at-Steve-Lawler impersonator.

Laughing
[quote]
Is there a prize?
[quote]
Hmmm - there should be a prize. But what? Thats something for us all to think out between now and then...

Spike says it was a combination of Very Happy and Shocked , but according to some reports if he had gone any more bonkers he would have looked a little like Froggy and Laughing
[quote]
And there was even a little of this Embarassed Shocked
[quote]
Hmmm - he has to stop putting things Moon or he will go Embarassed Froggy
[quote]
Laughing Laughing Laughing

i was going to put that myself steveo
[quote]
spike: basically seeing as how your Credit Card company is assumed to already have done a credit-check, they just call them to check your limit, and also check your address at the same time...

In regards to Greenie impersonations - I'm not sure if I was at Steve Lawler (DJ's? who remembers?) but I imagine it was some sort of merge of Mr. Green Mad Froggy Music
[quote]
hmm, clearly a place i WON'T be on Thursday then...
[quote]
if you go on a contract phone, you'll be able to choose something pretty good for free if you go for a year contract. I ended up going with vodafone cos the recieption is primo and they had a nokia that was pretty good at the time, although its old skool now and if you have a credtit card, they just swipe like £30 or something then charge it back for the credit check. Phone insurance is kinda handy, i've already used it once. It would suck to have to fork out £300-400 to replace your handset!

Anyway, see you's all thursday night then!
[quote]
Reception depends on where you are. Vodaphone absolutely sucks ass for me. I can't talk on the phone at home (can text sometimes) or if I am ever on the train - which wouldn't make a difference if you only catch the tube, but I catch the overland and it is SOOO frustrating. Buses also seem to be not so great...
[quote]
Enough about phones, lets get pissed on thursday, if this wheather keeps up, I'll be drinking like a fish
[quote]
Farken aye.... I'm there.
[quote]
Actually the temp is gonna drop off quite a bit tomorrow, we'll be back to the very low 20s rather than the high 20s of today and yesterday, but I bet you'll drink like a fish anyway Fishy

How's the new job goin? You down vauxhall way yet?
[quote]
Yeah Steveo, started Monday, all good down those ways, the jobs pretty interesting, what about that Wheather, all good, making up for the low rent summer they had in NZ last summer

I finish in Vaxuall most days round 4ish
[quote]
Then we'll have to hook up one night and have a mongrel time, bro.

Mongrel!

You thinkin of goin to The Fridge on saturday? See u thurs anyway!

I blame living with 12 people, nice weather, sitting in the backyard each night and having bbq's. Plus the offie is a 30 second walk away too!
