Drinkies this Thurs @ O'Neills in Ealing

Drinkies again this Thursday for anyone who's keen, the last one @ O'Neills was fun, so we thought we'd organise it again,

our crew should be down from 7.30 onwards, & if anyone needs to eat, they do good pubs meals down their 2-4-1

Who did impersonations?

Well, I'd been back in the UK a week when the last one was on, and Greenie at Steve Lawler was a bit of a talking point at the last O'Neills drinks... and i can think of at least a couple of people who did impersonations... one of whom's biggie name started with a P _ _ _.

But yeah, i'll be there!

Hmmm... pretty similar really. All of the main plans between providres seem pretty similarly priced, it really all depends which week u go into the shop as to who is running the best "special" that week.

However, you might find if you're new to the UK you will struggle to get a plan if you have no credit history, no job and can provide english bank statements for the last 3-months, in which case you will be "pay-as-you-go" (which is british for "pre-pay") for a while.

My recommendation about phones. Don't go with Siemens phones. Don't go with Vodaphone.

So O2 is prob the best option as Orange is usually more expensive (although check out their deals).

If you have a UK credit-card they can do some tricky things to get past the credit history thing...

There is only one way to resolve this disagreement about who's impersonation was better...

On thursday, after we've all had a few beers, we should all go round the table and those who were present for Steve Lawler can have a turn doing a Greenie impression. After a bit of group discussion and a final vote, we should be able to crown a chief Greenie-at-Steve-Lawler impersonator.

spike: basically seeing as how your Credit Card company is assumed to already have done a credit-check, they just call them to check your limit, and also check your address at the same time...

In regards to Greenie impersonations - I'm not sure if I was at Steve Lawler (DJ's? who remembers?) but I imagine it was some sort of merge of

if you go on a contract phone, you'll be able to choose something pretty good for free if you go for a year contract. I ended up going with vodafone cos the recieption is primo and they had a nokia that was pretty good at the time, although its old skool now and if you have a credtit card, they just swipe like £30 or something then charge it back for the credit check. Phone insurance is kinda handy, i've already used it once. It would suck to have to fork out £300-400 to replace your handset!

Reception depends on where you are. Vodaphone absolutely sucks ass for me. I can't talk on the phone at home (can text sometimes) or if I am ever on the train - which wouldn't make a difference if you only catch the tube, but I catch the overland and it is SOOO frustrating. Buses also seem to be not so great...

Enough about phones, lets get pissed on thursday, if this wheather keeps up, I'll be drinking like a fish
