domestic flights

does anyone know what the story is with domestic flights? is the security going to be quite hard out?

i went to queenstown earlier this year (before sept 11th) and it was similar to getting on a bus, no visible security at all?

has this all changed?

No, I don't think Security will be hard out. I normally fly with a 50 in my pockets or something.. no stress.

only an xray machine to get through, one for you adn one for you hand luggage - nothing major

yeah but ive heard words of dogs as you get on flights and searches etc...and of people who are flying not taking their supplies with them on the flights..

considering i'm off to the gathering, this is a bit worrying.

Put your gear in your luggage. There really only worried about 'knives' and shit for some STUPID paranoid reason. I call it delusional.

Just buy your buds down there,it takes a lot of money to hire/train a dog that can smell anything other than the cheeba. I'm sure you can find some down there.

they don't have dogs anywhere near you in domestic if you take it in your hand luggage. Jsut put any supplies in with your vitamins or something. They have never search people domestically - well not that I have seen anyway

I've been back and forth from Wellington 4 times since September and they only really seem concerned about weapons on hand luggage (I saw an old man have his whisker scissors taken off him). But I've carried pills back and forth a couple of times on Domestic no worries. I didn't really expect any trouble though. I've never seen anyone actually searched on Domestic, even now.

Otherwise what Harv and J said with the obvious "don't look nervous" tacked on! I go with the "bored off my nut" look!

As a slight aside, I've noticed that the magnetic scanner thingy at AK Domestic is less senstive than the one in Welly. In AK, I walked through with my phone, keys and change and it didn't go off. In Welly, it picked up a five cent piece in my jacket pocket! How crazy is that?!

pack all ur legal shit in the cargo baggage stuff.
