does anyone think that nz is too small and boring now?

I am so ashamed to say that I do ...... I never thought I'd feel like this and would always give people a hard time who did

But once you've lived in an exciting overseas city its hard to imagine settling back into life in NZ again. I'll definately go back one day but I think Tokyo might be the place I stay and earn money for the next 1-2 years

Am I alone in feeling this way?

The only thing i dislike about NZ is its lack of history and some people with small minds.

Every time i go away im reminded how big the world is and how narrow the veiw is of many people back here. Every time i come back i realise why its so narrow - look at NZ, why would you have to worry about anything out there - its great.

You need to go overseas once in a while to understand that. There are however huge opportunties overseas.

same boat as you. will venture home for holidays, maybe to settle there as well, but that's anywhere from 1 year to 10 years off. prolly around 3.

Yes. I don't think I will come back to live. Well maybe when I want to have kids and settle down etc but not before that.

NZ is still one of the most beautiful places on earth and I really miss that, but I'm not ready for the slow pace of life. Money, travel and socialising are my main priorities at the moment and unfortunately NZ can't offer me that.

IMO sure NZ is beautiful, wouldnt say the MOST beautiful by a long shot though..!!!

India can be strikingly beautiful, od try the pyramids during sunrise, of the Ankhor Watt at sunset...etc etc etc...

NZ hasnt shown be much better than that..!! Although on the nature side of things NZ is right up there, but it just doesnt have as much impact because its only NZ to me..!

I cant really comment because I've only been here for 1.5 months, but it has made me realise that Welli is very small, but not necessarily in a bad way.

I have a feeling my two years is going to go by far too fast, and I'm having so much fun here, I dont know what I'll do when my time is up.

Maybe I'll be itching to get home, maybe not, but there is sooo much to do here in the UK, so much to experience so all I can really do is make the most of it.

I do however miss the greenness of NZ, and living in the suburbs amongst native bush and birds. And the easyness of getting around, just jump in your car and your off.

Nah, New Zealand will always be beautiful in my eyes, the perfect beaches, gorgeous scenery, and the relaxed lifestyle. I will happily settle back in NZ once I have finished running a muck in the rest of the world.

Before I left NZ I asked a friend if she would ever return to NZ. She said no and there wasn't anything in NZ for her... I was confused...

Travel to the UK and see how much there is on your doorstep... "I see the light"

I Agree with your friend, theres nothing to really draw me back to NZ, i think the boredom would kill me..!!

The one thing i def dont miss is the classic Kiwi tall poppy effect...!!

I think new zealand ould be lot more successful if it wasnt always so worries about what the "boyz" think eh...

There is a saying: "The more you travel, the more you appreciate home" and I totally agree with this, however am not ready to return in any great hurry.

Im almost scared about returning as I could easily see the rest of my life just rolling into retirement! I know I will return to NZ sometime, but till then there are a few more countries I want to live in.

The longer I'm here, the less I want to go home. All my close friends are here now as well, with more arriving every month. I'm starting to wonder if there is anyone left in NZ!!

Been there before. I know exactly what you're all saying, and that is why I'm heading back to the UK for the third time for another couple of years. God I miss it! I came home last time for all the wrong reasons.

Ive had a small taste of London and I cant wait to get there, 20 days to go!

Im slowly talking most of my mates into going over too!

theres just sooo much opportunity there for everything, its gona be awesome!
