It was the first place that Captain Cook saw but does this place hold any real meaning for New Zealanders?
An American wants to buy it (from its NZ owners) but there are Maori who do not want this land to leave the hands of New Zealand. The American has advised that full acess would still be available for those who wanted access to the land and he would sign a writen lawfull agreement stating this
I think the sale of this land should not be stopped as if it is stopped then the land will be bought by the tax payer. The lands already privately owned so I cant see a reason why they cant sell it to who they like.
