I am so sick and tired of not having a proper station top listen to non conforming music. simply anything that aint cheese or POP.

What is everyone elses ideas on this..

we need some dance shows and others too!

Yip, lets get upfm down here!!!

Or maybe a local station down here would be bloody great. I don't know much about radio but I think that the major issue is finding a free frequency.

George fm is wicked but we need something else.

your telling me frantic!
there is things in the works as the rumor goes..
hopefully rumors turn to reality soon!

would definitly help to have a station...

and i'd hate to be seen as cynical, but theres been 'a rumour' for yeeears

hell yeah harddance and dnb plus abit of breaks would be sooooo much better than having to listen to zm club mix on a sat night before you have to go out, unless of course you blessed with decks (mk 5's coming soon and I can't wait).
[quote]
the Mk5s are just a Mk3 with a blu light and a switchable pitch fader.... the yutzes still didnt put a reverse key on it??? and the pig pitch (+- 16% or +-8%) wouldnt get used much... except maybe for our D&B djs. Very Happy
I guess we could play some techno pitched up as hardcore !? Music

The old uni radio channel is used as THE GENERATOR, which is a great station (for altitude munters) and they have an alternate frequency too, but i think their range is still limited by a corromandel station being in the same band.
If u want to know about frequencies give Stables (zm) a call. He's a frequency owner(?), & knows the ins & outs. Cool

ah its funny,

did you know that hamiltron had the first dedicated electronica show in NZ called simply "Breakbeat". It showcased the first jungle vinyl to come into NZ aswell as ambient, techno (proper techno, not the poop that peeps call techno nowadays), and other bits. It got shut down because some 'stuff' went missing from the Contact Fm studio.

Then a wee bit later, Paul Medder stepped up to the podium and ran 'Biosphere' together with delicous D, Nigel (nasty), DJ Arc, and myself. This happened for about two years until the now 'U' fm decided that because we wanted nice turntables (not belt drive vestax bollacks), and a dedicated mixer (you had to mix on a large mixing desk which doesn't even have a x-fader and no proper cues) they would 'eliminate' the show........phooorrttt!!!

so that leaves us with nothing essentially, and in all reality I believe that a city of 150,000 has the diversity to create a listener base for these music types.....all you have to do is get that through the thick skulls of the people that run the radio shows.
