the dnb scene seems to becoming more and more full of tough guys and bogans, too full of teenage angst and \'i\'m cooler than you are\' type mentality.

...also the amount of tunnel vision musically i see from dnb people is disturbing, and the recent bitchiness ie nyfu vs new frontiers, and the attacks from promoters on punters in this forum is sad..

I dunno dpt, there is often bitching in the dnb forum, even on the old biggie I can recall big threads of arguments. So it isn\'t a new thing, and it hasn\'t destroyed the Nz dnb scene. I think everyone could afford to chill out a little though

personaly i used to realy be into DnB in a big way.
going out by myself to the box,minisry,fu.
but lately it has just got too intence and too, almost self obcest to be fun. I still enjoy the music and still by CDs but going out to clubs, oh sorry club, does not envigorate me anymore.

I believe speed/tempo is an acceptable measure for different types of music....
The samples/sounds used in most genres (especially d'n'b) is irrelevant ....since most of em are defined roughly by their by their tempo.

There are a few exceptions....but I think as those genres mature you will see this change as they take on new influences/sounds.

D'n'b has been doin this for around 10 years or so.
