I should have asked this a couple of weeks ago but didn't really know what to ask.

Here is what I'm trying to do:

Build a portfolio as a desktop application that boots from a CD (or DVD, but will probably fit on a CD) in flash. Will just have a bunch of buttons pointing to various crap I've done over the years, websites, video work, photoshop, drawings, an intro etc.

Never done it before. Got a vague idea of how to build a baisc button/timeline deal, will work through it as I go. Have started by making screen shots of everything.

Ummmm.... any tips?

Oh, it's for a course application.

What sort of work do you do? artwise.

Obviously you can much around with flash to do it but theres plenty of products that will let you build customized autoplay menus. Just look under autoplay on download.com or google.

Hmmm, might try that...

Just whatever I'm given really. My technical skills are far stronger than my creative skills, and the portfolio will probably reflect that, but it's a more technical course.
Have done some basic design work for friends on occasions, Made a DVD of family videos that I gave out one Christmas (quite OTT, remixed in 5.1, cool intro etc), photo restoration, various photoshop crap (will include some "photoshop a biggie" stuff), made a couple of websites for places I've worked and for myself, a few other odd solutions like an interactive pdf.
Not that keen on doing too much work cos not as confident designing stuff up to a decent standard and I get a bit bored doing it cos I hate stuffing around working out things, I like to know what I'm doing.

I can paint really well and draw but I haven't for years despite really wanting to paint again.
