Timewarp looks great, would love to hear Johnny D play, I'm really enjoying his records on Oslo.

This is exactly the reaction I was hoping for Smile

Echospace presents deepchord (or is it the other way round,I always lose track with these guys) and Mike Huckaby also added to the bill. I am happy! Go dub techno (although not quite as good as last years 6 hours of basic channel).

your warm, warmer keep guesing....

its his brother i believe. apparently doing a 3 hour live set... is that right bn1?
i wonder what he plays?

Shocked
[quote]
Yeah Matthew Hawtin is Richie's brother and is a visual artist I think. I think he may have done the artwork for consumed (still prob my favourite Plastikman record) - anyhow if you look his stuff up its pretty close to the minus kinda aesthetic.

No idea if he's doing music or visual stuff.
Tbh I probably won't be up by then so not too fussed whether I catch it.

An after party

[quote]
Not long to go!!!!!!!
[quote]
sooooooooo jealous.
[quote]
Alright, Micarl and I are back in New York after this, will try to do a longer review before long, but basically - yes it was good, definitely worth the trip to Detroit, although I wouldn't say its worth flying to the states just for this then going home..

Here was some quick thoughts I had, sorry they are not too illuminating -

Dan Bell was great, running round on stage playing live on various machines - v minimal but then busting out into big things like 'Losing control'..
Cassy was fucking great, I think maybe i love her a little. Also the only dj i saw actually playing vinyl!

Hawtin had largest entourage and an average set.. standard ass minimal as far as I heard. Magda was cool. Biggest surprise for me was I really enjoyed Konrad Black's set. more house than the other m-Nus guys.

Mike Grant rocked the underground carpark arena - slamming house with big gospel vocals. Aaron carl was good down there too - and he sang!
justin long (from chicago) was good, fun high bpm chi house (?) and he played basic channel and iggy pop!
Alex Smoke was fun, ALex under was bananas! Love his style and enjoyed the whole set..
Carl Craig - great atmosphere for his set, live bidness though so was kinda wonking off into the jazz pit at times
Guillame and the Coutu Dumonts = my fav set, heavy beats but interesting and filled with detail - not boring minimal. good use of soulful preacher vocals.
cobblestone jazz - more fun than the improv boredom i expected - dumptruck was heavy
par grindvik - heavy heavy - too much for me i think.

mr wink - was kinda hoping it would be acid madness josh wink but we caught his last hour and it was more on the lower key house tip - very good but he didnt quite smash it. dubfire made wibbly noises for 2min then we left.
[quote]
Oh yeah, Matthias Kaden was very good too - he likes his tribal drums and his sax! And seemed to be happy and having fun, which is nice to see, he didn't draw the bigges crowd, but those who were there were diggin. I am a fan.
[quote]
Nice. Not as jealous as thought I'd be. After party much bro?
[quote]
We tried to go to that Dennis Ferrer/Mr V thing but it was 25$ and was late so we flagged it..

There was heaps of afterparties on but tbh was so knackered each day by the fest that I didn't feel like I needed to afterparty more..
[quote]
Also worth a mention that Richie didn't use his special magic musical box at the festival. Only the after party that we didn't go to.

Dan Bell, Alex Under, Carl Craig, Cobbestone Jazz, Magda, Konrad Black, Joris Voorn and Josh Wink were all highlights! Would go again
