Is it common for digital releases to have this many remixes?

Regardless of who the artist is it doesn't inspire much confidence when you see 8 or so mixes of the same track.

Most UK labels and/or gonna-be-massive-in-Ibiza tunes have this many mixes. Worse yet, all of these mixes are basically electro too. You'd think they'd get a techno or deep house one done at least as a token effort.
