About the best tune you've played in 2 years.

Flip it over for the fabio mix.

agreed big tune!

biggest tune ive played in 2 years prolly not Froggy

sean tyas is still creating the best sound. forget all the 'yeah man its boring and shit' he kills anyone in production level IMO Smile

Sean Tyes not too bad a dj either. Got to hear him on friday night for the first time and was overall pretty impressed. Great energy behind the dexs reasonable track selection, had the crowd going nicely.

Sander Van Doorn on the other hand was really disappointing. He played a 2 hour set of which only the last 30 min was ok. The first hour was just truly shit. He completely lost the whole crowd, luckly Mr Tyes was playing in the other room so most of the crowd just moved there.

I did think that, until I got damn sick of every friggin tune sounding the same. The guy is pumping out remixes every blimmin week only cause each one has the same riffs/bassline/hats etc...

Quality for sure - but it would be nice to hear something different - an artist album would bore the pants off me!!!

i agree he does need to change his production line but i spose he'll wait till all the big jocks stop thrashing his current sound.

hmmm... it's an odd one, though... some producers get by on maintaining the same sound for ages! armin, push, ferry etc... it's important to have "a sound" as a producer, i think.

people will only get bored of it if it's a boring sound.

Boring is in the ear of the beholder.

I think new production tools have helped the likes of armin etc and his new sounds...eg: diff kick beats of say communication compared to the recent 'love you more'.

Plus for some people, 'minimal', is a boring sound however it has become very popular throughout clubbers in Europe. If it was boring people wouldn't flock to hear it. However better technology in production has made this sound alot more applicable for the big room sound. I don't like it mind you(boring!) but it has its place.

gc-have fun up there on satdee.

what makes a tune boring?

what makes a track exciting?
[quote]
cheers andy! should be fun...

trance generally has to have 'something' to it to make exciting i think. TBH i haven't heard a lot of sean tyas, but i have liked it, i'm not bagging the guy... i appreciate his production values etc, it's a nice sound. i just think you have to be wary, as someone said above, to produce too many similar sounding remixes etc at around the same time, otherwise your sound will stagnate, and people won't want to hear it any more...

re: armin etc, communication is a bit of an exception because that was his breakthrough track... from then onwards all of his remixes and originals have had that same feel- the 'rising star' type sound. i think the trick with armin, though, is that his sound is neutral enough to be able to get away with only changing it subtly to make things sound fairly different...

ferry corsten has done well to have 2 distinctly different styles, i think... system f/gouryella VS flashover sound...

i don't think tyas has shown either of ^the above^ yet.

Smile
