Well.. Ive seen heaps of BBC TV, and CNN. And their are reports that 85% of the targets have been hit.. Dunno what that means.. "Our target is on the ground".. Yup we got it.. Ok.. cynical?

Interesting interwiew on BBC today with an old war historian who basically said.. "Believe nothing. Both side will lie through their teeth cause it suits em!".. and hes probably on the mark.

did u hear that the Red Cross rang up the USA and told them the location of their Red Cross buildings in Afghanistan! Seems as though they are sick of getting blown up!

A state department offical was saying the casualities were unavoidable in something like this... seems they would rather it be civilians than thier own troops tho. Youd think the americans would have learnt bombing doesnt work. Around troops are the answer but they seem afraid (possibly with good reason) of fighting on the ground. The taliban have been at war for 20 years and i dont think theyre too afraid of a little bombing especially when its making the americans look bad everytime the fuck it up.

Now who would have thought this would have happened?

Yeah, well clearly civilians are worth less to the US than highly trained troops, and there haven't been that many civlian deaths in the scheme of things.

They want to clear the radar and intelligence of the Taliban before they move in, I'm sure. They'll also want air supremacy (by knocking out AA guns, and airfields) so they have more flexibility for dropping special forces into the Northern territories I imagine.

Civilians get killed by ground troops too, unfortunately. :-/

I wonder how many civilians will die "in the scheme of things" and if that will top the 2700 killed in the WTC...

I've got to hand it to the Americans. As far as orchestrating a 'righteous' war for the rest of the world, they've been making all the right moves while allowing them to do all the kinds of nasty, inhumane shit that is the American trademark. Like making the airdrop food parcels the same colour and shape as unexploded cluster bombs. Like fuck thats a mistake.

Same with the red cross buildings. They're just trying to bully the red cross into making the 'decision' to leave Afghanistan. Cos with the watchdogs out of the way...

And all the while, theres this feeling in the back of my mind that Bush is doing exactly what Bin Laden wants him to do. Bin Laden is madder than a snake. He hopes that Muslims everywhere watching the powerful U.S. bomb poor, defenseless Afghanistan will incite them to rise up.

I somehow don't think that will happen though. I think Bin Laden thinks that all Muslims are as fanatical and crazy as he is which just isn't true.
