Crowd Goes Wild

NZ's only nightly sport show and the only show I ever watch on Prime has been bumped to a late night slot. Now we get to watch 20yo re-runs of home improvement instead. FUCK OFF. CGW was a highlight of my evening viewing and pretty much the only show that we watched regularly at its time of viewing.

I tweeted Andrew M and he said that it was a cash issue with the network. Not too sure what that means though. Not much to be done, I suppose, other than joining the Facebook group or writing a sternly worded letter.

ya I was gonna post this. Totally furious. Just have to Mysky and watch yesterdays I suppose. Rigor is my hero. Andrew is also funny as fk and I dont mind Hayleys presenting when shes on either. Try not to miss it, great show

Yeah start of this week. I'm a huge Mulligan fan, pretty gutted about this.

Late is so much harder - I'm either out, watching other stuff or asleep at 10:30. It fucken SUCKS.

I couldn't believe it when I saw they were putting episodes of Home Improvement on instead of CGW. All the good television in NZ gets ruined. Next thing you know they'll cancel it cos nobodies watching it.

So I dont get it, why would they shovel their best show down to the graveyard slot? How does that make it more economical?

I don't think it was actually rating that well at all, besides a small bunch of loyal supporters.

So if Home Improvement rates better than CGW and CGW rates better at 10.30 than whatever they have there now, I guess it's a good (business) decision.

I'm fkn gutted about it myself -- I think it's the best NZ TV show period!

He said it was a money issue, but that Prime did not want to cancel the show. so, not sure really.

Hayley Holts dismal form behind the camera is to blame

You watched recently? She's improved vastly and learnt a lot off McCone (sp?) and Mulligan in particular. No problems with her these days.

Yup watched last week or the week before...

She was horrendous. Completely ruined the flow of the programme.

Can't even have an unscripted convo with Mark or Ad-lib.

The only complaint I have about her is she needs to learn how to pronounce team and player names. It's like theres no rehearsal and she's seeing the names for the first time ever and not even bothered learning how t pronounce them. It kind of ruins the banter when she's referring to Tot-ten-ham when the proper pronounciation is closer to Tot-nim. That's the worst one because Mark is a Spurs fan so they tend to have a bit of banter around their results, but it happens with every foreign name that isn't pronounced phonetically (well English phonetics anyway).

Other than that I quite like what she contributes.

Ive thought about this perplexing situation some more. For a start I cant even belive that CGW struggles for viewer numbers, but a closr look at the situation means it makes sense. After all It was on at 7pm fer chissakes......think of all the WHIPPED men with a missus who loves Shorties. Those poor saps have no chance. maybe moving it later makes more sense if they want to grow a loyal fan base. On the surface (say a dozen episodes) the CWG is a decent sports highlight package. But the reason I love it so much is the irrevant bantering non PC pseudo mysoginistic stuff that goes on within the "sports reporting"

Andrews clear disdain for golf, and Marks reply with basketball/GridIron etc etc

I love all that stuff..perhaps the average guys needs the chance to love it too when the missus has gone to bed. Dobbo made them wait for Sports tonight perhaps CGW deserves the chance to forge an audience in a non-so brutally competative slot as 7pm?

Didnt see tonights episode but I think he might mean that producer guy. Dont remember his name but They did live crosses to him on holiday once and Ive seen him front and he is terribly unlikable , Im really not sure why he ends up in front of the camera

Its a shame when the regs are missing, McConie freezes/doesnt do as well as his field work. Holt doesnt have the speaking/inflection type skills but improving. Ellis wasnt realy good either, he had a few hilarious moments as per but doesnt present well. Perhaps its easy to underestimate how fkn hard that job is and how awesome Mark and Andreww really are at it <3
