ive recently started a new job and there cover three states in australia... unfortunately there has never been a database kept on the clients.

can anyone recommend a crm software package that will help me record details of my client visits, the sales i put through, any other little client relationshippy type information etc.

this wont be a company-wide rollout as most of the sales staff are agents and keep a firm grip on their contacts and relationships. this is just something for me to use to keep track of my clients and to make it easy for whoever takes over from me in the future.

thank you!

You could use MS Outlook with Business Contact manager or MS Access or ACT, there are also online versions.

I have been using Outlook but am playing with Access as i can customise it to what i want.

Hell you can even use an excel spreadsheet and use a pivot table to find relationships.

I think Access 2007 comes with a customer database templte to get you started. You can download a 60 day trial from MS.

What bob said.

If you are willing to spend some money there is also Salesforce and its online = GREAT. They also offer a free CRM package called Salesforce Personal Edition. You can also extend this to have more people at a later stage with not to much effort needed.

Mx-Contact is Outlook based but not sure on the cost or if they do anything that is free.

ZohoCRM is good and they offer a free CRM package for up to 3 people.

Yeah Salesforce Personal Edition I reckon. Then if your company ever wants to pry valuable contact and pipeline information away from hoarding sales members they can bring them all into it. Cool
