How was the India vs Australia game last nite, India scored a mammoth 303 and Australia could ony manage 286 all out in the 49.4 over

I have to say top batting by the Indians, Tendulkar managed to get to 86 with an injured ankle, VVS Laxman scored 103, and Dravid got 74. The Ozzies put up a good fight tho, Gilchrist and Hayden smashed the opening bowlers but they could not carry it on throughout the innings.

The best part has to be seeing Brett Lee get hit for 83 runs in his 10 overs

Zimbabwe are totally outclassed in this series. I wouldnt be surprised if they dont win a match. The series would have been more interesting if the third team was Sth Africa or Sri Lanka Music

Australia to win the finals 2-1

this tri-series doesn't necessarily have the 3 best teams in the world dman - its a rotational basis so all the teams in world cricket get to play it every 3 years or so... when it comes the zimbo's turn to play they can't just axe them in favour of a better team!

however they are going to get pummelled, outclassed in every area - and now with andy flower gone, they have no shining light...

i love watching this indian team play, and i always have - if i wasn't a kiwi i think i'd support the indian cricket team... i believe they have the best top order in one day cricket, and probably tests too... i know the strength of the aussies and the saffers, but i really do rate the indians above them...

and with good young quicks coming through they look likely to be a powerful force for many years to come... pathan and balaji won them that game last night, and it bodes very well for indian cricket - it also takes away a lot of the pressure the sparkling top order might feel...

for me last night's highlight was realising that it wasn't only brett lee who has lost it, but also michael bevan... 2 years ago bevan would have coasted through to that target, but playing and missing and struggling to work the 2's like he used to really ruled out any chance aussie had...

Yeah Im well aware of the structure of the Australian "World Series" competition, having followed it seriously for the last 10 years. Just bad timing with Zimbabwe going through politcal BS with the result being that they cant field their best side :/
They aint going to have a shit show in winning any matchs.

nicely said Nathan, i fully agree with everything u have stated, i do see the indian cricket team as being a very competitive team for the years to come.

as for Bevan, he def has lost his game, he was a match winner a couple of years ago and you could be quite confident that he could carry the Ozzies thru to win a game, but as of late he is just not as onto it as he was (maybe a lack of form or something)

I have to say the Ozzies fielding has turned to shit too, how bout Damien Marytn's drop catch Shocked

This isnt even a Tri-Series to me, just a bunch of India vs Australia warm up games before they have a final

Zimbabwe are boring, Im not going to bother watching them ho hum

Not so sure about the Indians being the next world force calls, they do have comfortably the best top order in world cricket but as long as they continue to roll out medium paced left armers who just dart it in and cant hold a bat ...............
[quote]
Indians have a better one day team than test team as their bowling suits odis more, and they have quality batters. Was a good win by aussie will still have it all over them in this series. Agree bevan is in bad form, just about the worst I've ever seen him play. Zimbabwe are simply a joke, only 1 truly quality player, streak.

Michael Bevan.

Form is temporary. Class is permanent.

He's just outta sorts. And will be back.

Brett Lee. Hmmmm. Big problems. He looked positively without hope yesterday. Frustrated as hell.

He's gonna struggle to get back to anywhere near to where he was at the start of his Australian career.

Heath Streak......is a shining light of the Zim's however. And full credit to him for consistently performing when all around him crumbles.

Pretty funny reading the comments from SMF and JAH, not to long ago u guys made it very clear that India is not a good team as they have 2 many individuals that dont work well as a team.

How times have changed!! Laughing

Indians have the best top order in world cricket, stick a few decent bowlers in there and u have a very very good team unit.

Certainly up there with SA and Aussie in the years to come.

Bevan hasent had much time out in the middle of the field. Shit, his ability hasent been seriously called into effect in this series intil last night, as Australia havent needed the services of the lower order for a serious run chase.

Also one other thing - whats happened to Glenn McGrath? He's been out for ages with injury. Has there been a date set for his return?

When was the first one?

I wanna despatch each of you straight and gloriously back over your heads so as you turn and depart the only sound to be heard is the solitude of silence punctuated by mocking laughter of biggie's premier batsman Laughing

How was yesterdays game, what a cracker between Oz and India once again.

I have to say that this is some of the best cricket that i have watched in a long time

For those of u that missed it:
India batted first and got to a huge 296 for the loss of only 4 wickets, VVS Laxman scored 106 and Yuvraj Singh scored an impressive 139 from 122 balls.

The Ozzies run chase started well as they made it to about 80 after 10 overs, but then it rained and the winning total was reduced to 225 from 34 overs.

India had it in the bag when ozzies required 7 runs from 3 balls with Brett Lee and A Bichel at the stumps, but somehow Brett Lee pulled off a six and they ended up winning with 1 ball to spare.

All in all, fuckn fantastic game
[quote]
dammit I missed it cos I was so tired I couldnt stay up even when Gilchrist was going nuts!! Mad

and cock Lee won it with a six??.............DAMMIT AGAIN!! Mad Mad Mad

I'll say one thing about the Indians, there are batting brilliantly but also very selfishly! With about 8 overs to go, the Indians had 7 wickets in hand.........and they should have been trying to hit sixes and fours, not paddle it around so they could reach their 100's

This cost them probably 20 runs and looks like it was the diff to winning the game

I cant understand why teams dont use up all their batsmen?

290-8 is a better score in ODI's than 270-4

and LOL at Steve Bucknor not going to the 3rd umpire when Ganguly was run out, I though it looked out live from my armchair
[quote]
Brett Lee looked like such an idiot when he got Singh out right at the end of the innings. He was down on his knees celebrating like mad, generally looking like a cock ...what the hell is there to be so excited about when the team that is batting is almost on 300 and the guy you got out scored 139 and only got out cos he was going for a bash? Brett Lee is an idiot.
[quote]
ha I saw that too and was yelling at him and calling him a dickhead Rolling Eyes

he was down on his knees and sticking his tongue out and twirling his fingers around like he had just won the game

Christ knows what he did when he hit that six...................probably got his cock out
[quote]
Brett Lee is a dick as well as being the worlds fastes white chucker.
