Astle century gives us a win

Nice, good contributions by Flemming and Cairns too. I guess form always shows through in the end.

Has worked well for the selectors considering so many people were doubting Flemming and Astle should have even been in the world cup starting squad.

Another good win. 1 change needed for the next match - tuffey in for adams. Shocking last 3 overs - 62 runs, unbelievable. I guess the black caps just wanted a bit more batting practice.

sorry JAH i can't agree with that call at all. i think kyle mills is the worst thing to happen to NZ cricket since bryan young.

you have to at least look like a cricketer, and mills can't even bowl properly.

also andre only bowled one of those 3 overs, and i don't hear you calling for harris or vettori to be dropped. yeah andre bowled a bad over, but he is exactly what we need in lower order

his performance against the west indies exemplifies his talent, big runs at the end, and wickets to boot... he is a true cricketer and will deliver big things for new zealand cricket in the future.

i would have adams ahead of vettori, oram, tuffey mills, the lot... he is still very green, but once he gets experience under his belt will become a damging alrounder.

Don't blame the bowlers that bowled at the end for those three big overs from Zimbabwe. Fleming took a gamble in bowling out all the overs from Bond and Oram earlier which didn't pay off.

we can't afford to drop adams.. he's a player that either has a shocker of a game (as he did in this one), or just about wins us the match single-handedly...

fleming just has to learn to manage that better, ie. not bring him back to bowl the last over when the other side have been smashing it all round the park already, and he's already going at 7 an over.

it's a shame we can't give tuffey or mills a run though... still 4 more games till we win the world cup, and if oram bond or adams get injured, they're not going to have a lot of match practice..

Tuffey - good bowler, but I dont C any green on these pitches so go home as well (although we might have a pyscholocical advantage against India if Tuffey is in the team.)

But of great importance as well is the amount of extras we are bowling, this could be the difference between winning & losing.

Hang on a second you clowns, Mills averages around 20 runs per wicket, and his ecomony rate is around 4 an over........... and this is with playing most his games on the sub-continent

Mills in an into the wicket bowler and much more well suited to the conditions than most

scott stris & carins would have been a better option at the death than harris & vertori against ZIM

I don't care how good mills is, he can't bowl properly. We can't criticise the cheats in other countries and have one ourselves. It shows what a disgrace the ICC is that Mills hasn't been targetted yet. Watching Murali bowl makes me angry every time. At least akhtar bowls some legit balls and only bends his arm a bit. Murali blatantly throws every single ball, utter disgrace.

Adams has been going for over 6 runs an over during the world cup. In the zimbabwe game 5 overs for 54. I'm not basing my opinions on one game let alone one over. Tuffey has slightly worse average but better economy rate. Maybe not for the aussie game, but unless adams performs he should come in for the india game. As waryn g said he does have it over them psychologically.

and mills doesn't even get any advantage out of his chicking. he isn't fast, he can't spin it either...

he is a waste of space.
