Hmmm wot. Please be squabbling and coming to a conclusion Very Happy

So Young got dumped as I told him he would be if he didnt scpore runs vs Australia and now they cant dfecide whether toi play BJ Watling or trying KvW. Im not a fan of Watling the batsman at all, but Ive never seen decent amountsd of Kvw to br able to form much of an opinion, (well....otheer than hes obv a dirty safa)

Radio Sport callers seem to rate him and Young as the best glovemen in the country, so I hope KvW gets a run so we can see what he can do
[quote]
He's about the same age as Young and actually averages better than Bj Watling at 38 at first class level.

Thinking about those tests. Id say vs most teams right now the best thing for us to at home is play on green tops, but that sounds like a pretty scary tactic vs the Safas. well, he has been dropped from the ODI side, and I think they're now in the process of grooming a replacement for the test team... but in test cricket you actually need a proper keeper, not a batsmen who keeps a little (i.e. like AB de Villers who keeps in the ODI side)

Can't recall who was 'winning' this stupid argument, but Guptill has now scored 6 consecutive 50s in international cricket. Although 5 of them were against the Zimbos so it means very little. Showed his class last night though...

I'm interested to see if the Saffas are smart enough to realise that slow bowling is dominating in T20 cricket these days, or if they want to keep coming with a stacked pace attack. Still pretty fearsome when it comes to tests, but I don't believe raw pace is the way of T20 at the moment.

Exactly.

Also - if Ontong & Duminy didn't get free lives from ridiculous decisions we would've only had to chase about 80.

NZ to win a high scorer in Hamilton.

gc.
[quote]
neil ... can' believe I'm going to say this ... is right. SA realised ages ago that spin is the way to go and have even taken that into the ODI's part of their game. I remember for years we only fielded pace attacks with no spin option, those days are long gone.Kirsten has made it very clear they are going to play with this T20 team until they find the right combination - they are very keen to get a ICC trophee in the cupboard.

SA has struggled with T20's right from the word go and the BC's have been really good at it. Not sure why, we do have the big hitters and aggresive players for it ...

Our T20 team for the ICC WC will be Amla, Kallis, Ingram, AB, Faf, Duminy, Pieterson, Morkel, A Morkel/Botha, Parnel/Tsotsobe and Steyn. As you can see thats a fair bit deiff to what we are fielding atm.

I do think NZ is perhaps a better all round T20 side, but I wouldn't get to lipy about it Maestro, you know what we are like with minnows like NZ.

Yeah that was ridiculous. Ironically tho, this is the beast that a South African built. It was Alan Donald who really encouraged Tim Southee's aggressive side. Since he became bowling coach briefly, Southee has noticeably become more mouthee and aggressive.

He has to learn that mouthing off after a guy has just smashed the fuck out of you achieves nothing but making you look stupid.

Not the first time and won't be the last time SA makes a comeback when everyone already called it game over. A collapse that was brought forward by a sustained amount of pressure, realising that JRyder was about to crack and then knowing that dropping him, letting him waste more balls would put extra pressure on the batsmen that will follow. I missed the whole game today, so didn't see how he got out, but this problem is indicative of pretty much all NZ batsmen in the last 15 years or so... Fleming was the worst culprit but the conversion rate of NZ batsmen in general is fucking abysmal.
