How much do you pay for new tyres?

mine are $64 each, new and a good brand - hehe, it's great!

for those of us with Mags, tires can be quite costly, depending on the size of the wheel you can pay anywhere from around $120 or so to about $300 or more for high quality new tires

bout $250 a tyre, and thats for 'cheap' tyres

thats insane, id pay that for race tyres, but for road tyres? crazy..

yeah, I know I know .. but its all that would fit and other reasons ...

R19, 265, 30 on 19x9.5 wheels with 45degree side wall champher (re-inforced case wall and to fit under the gaurds) if I had any softer it would clip the rims on the road. They also have a high speed rating, so I can do safely 300kph+ (heh cars speed limited top speed is 250kph however this will change when the new super charger and chip changes top speed will be 286 ) hence the need also to get very high performance wheels ... (if I take it on the track .. like fuck I want tires falling to bits at hi speed Very Happy)

Brands get limited around this odd size, if I had 10 inch rims things would be easier to get, but they just wouldnt fit with out some major gaurd flaring (already flared some what to cope)

heh I run 235/35/19 front and 245/35/19 rear on the current wheels I have, I want at least 265's on the rear for the track.

My front guards have been pumped out as absolutly far as they will go (no more metal to wack out) and the rears are out about 20mm but filled with bog, gonna fix that in the future.

I need to buy wider track wheels. (And more hi speed friendly tyres) but I dont see the point on the street, we aren't technically allowed to drive over 100kmh so 300kmh tyres while flash (if you know what your looking at) seems like burning money to me

yeap agreed, wont be doing that speed on the road .. altho I have hit the speed limiter once just to say i've done it shhhhh Very Happy

The major advantage I have is grip and handling it now has shit loads, just when you think the rear is about to give, stamp the accelerator and you can get a load more. The car will point into the corner perfectly. So im pretty dam happy with the setup so far Very Happy

yeah i can't argue with you there, it all comes down to tyres and suspension in the end, though even with the cheapies the front of mine wont understeer (all nolathane bushes and HD sway bars) but the rear can get pretty tail happy with a little too much accelerator, very easy to control though, I'll be tempted to go do a drift day on the currents when its back on the road for a laugh before I get really serious with the car and get to moving the engine back as far as it'll go for circuit racing.
