anyone had fun with this issue? wireless g losing everytime the flatmate gets on the phone.

i'm a male so of course never use the phone but my female flattie does all the time. i'm scoping out the option of 1.8Ghz phones over 5.8Ghz phones... would prefer to spend my hard-earned flybuys points on a cheaper 1.8Ghz... just wondering if anyone else has resolved this problem with a 1.8Ghz phone?

uniden 2.4Ghz phone (old-ish model) with 2.4Ghz wireless router (new thomson used by telecom). changing channel on phone has no effect

i've moved the phone base away from the router, like 2 rooms away, but it still knocks out the connection to my pc, which is 1 room in the other direction. flatmate loses connection too but that's because her laptop is closer to the base than the phone - i moved the base to the jack in her room Smile she reckons its telecoms problem not ours... is it wifi or adsl youre losing - if it the adsl then you probably need filters. If its wifi then switch the channel on the wifi router.

Yeah try changing the channel on the router, but in my experience 2.4ghz phones just 'speg over the whole spectrum anyway. Dump it can get a 1.8ghz once, especially since wifi gear is starting to move to 5.8ghz too.
