It took a potentially really good song gave it a slightly too flat (and almost dry sounding) vocal on the orig.

Your mix is an improvement on the orig and prob the most solid thing I've heard of yours - nice jammy roll to it. The Hot Rats makes the best effort on fixing the vocal imo but their music is a little obvious.

The 'la la la-la-la' backing vocals - def an effective summer vibe flag for Hed Kandi's next comp. Sounds like they spent a week trying to recreate an early Basement Jazz tune or Sueno Latino and then added a great vocal. (this is a good thing btw - great tracks)

Dimitri from Paris wrote "Effective girly pop tune. original has potential." I doubt he'd play the orig going by what I've heard him play. A DFP remake with that vocal would shred.

Lastly why "La La La"?

If it was called "Here Comes The Sun Again" recognition would be miles higher imo! Serious...

cheers for the comments Rob. It's here comes the song again.. Not sure why Discopolis decided on that but probably cause it's easier to remember..

where did you find out about the dimitri comments??

Lol.. thought it was sun - summer tune/sun..

Dimitri's comments easily found on press releases for this tune. I've heard him twice in the last year and I can't see him playing this - maybe he does way more conventional sets in the UK.

beach house is a legitimate genre now?

Everything is a legitimate genre now....I thought it was referencing the early Hed Kandi Beach House comps which weren't terrible at the time.
