Congratulations to the Funk Factory...

for putting on aN EXTREMELY elegant and sumptuous evening indeed @ the Civic complex for Velvet's second birthday. You people have raised the standard for events promoters to aspire to once again, so well done guys and girls! My friends and I had a lovely evening, although it did feel more like a social event than a dance party - thanks to all those who took the time to talk or dance with a complete random as well. Hope everyone else who attended had a rockin' good time too.
I'd be interested to hear other's opinions and highlights. For me, i'd have to pick Philippa's Derrick Carter inspired set early on in the evening... "is this all there is!!? NO...THERE MUST BE MORE!!!..."

Totally agreed, what a HUGE night!!! Can't even begin to fathom how many new people I met, cool venue, wicked music, ROCKIN'!!! All of my crew were speechless by the time we hooked up again on sunday arvo (all we were good for was five hours on mission bay, not much moving involved).

pulla - same! about 30 mins on a park bench in the sun at mission bay and two hours with seatbelts on in the car... just sitting there and talking shit... ahh lovely. What an awesome night.

Thanks for the photos Zapf, they are great.And yeh wot a fantastic gig.
I was dressed as Amadeus (there is a photo) and everyone was so friendly and givin me the big ups for my costume. Really appreciate that. And the music was superb, enjoyed the different rooms , altho the main room just kicked arse so hard all night woohoo!

At this point I just want to say thanks to everyone who dressed up for the gig, we were astounded just how many of the crowd looked so wicked. Dressed up, vibed up, and all on the go. What a night! Dunno how we'll top that one, but were working on it!

Glad you liked the visuals Zapf, got an even more freaky idea for the next velvet sometime next year. Absolutely love your photos, thanks for that.
