We have got to get this forum rolling, even goa and psychodelic trance is only like 4 posts behind us!

So to do this what is your top five techno songs at the moment? (Come on slug i know i can count on you)
[quote]
Maybe you should start the ball rolling?
Or maybe I should. Here they are.

Joey Beltram - Drome
Untitled EP - Squarepusher
Felix Da Housecat - Silver Screen Shower Scene (Laurent Garnier Remix)
Co Fusion - Acorn EP
Devilfish - Working The Phonk

Cheating a little cause squarepusher is really more an IDM/weird electronicy thing not techno. But who cares.

I should start the ball rolling but if i post it later ie: when i have thought about it, there will be more posts Wink

O fuk,its a sad day for techno and N.Z 8(
Least popular thread,im still wondering why this is!!
1 conclusion on a positive note is this;
Techno music is sooo damn fine that ppl would rather b listening to it than threading about it Cool
[quote]
OOH wadya know were level 8D
[quote]
I'd be rather out mixing it myself Smile
[quote]
Its not really something I listen to at home so I've got less to say about it than I do about dub, hiphop, and other electronic music.

Maybe we can expand and make the techno forum about braindance, and glitch music etc etc. All the genres forsaken by biggie Smile
[quote]
lol
[quote]
dunno if hardcore techno is your kind of thing...

1. coming straight from the underground by tundra
2. mega-brain-man by brain[ras
3. anarchist youth by brain[ras
4. bad taste by mad craps
5. real hardcore bass by demential level

btw, glitch music is alive and well in a/k !!!!

Misstress Barbara - OMFG!!!
She is the most impressive female tekno DJ I've ever seen! Was lucky enuf to see her live in 2001 and she honestly left me gob smacked!
This is what my friend PiNKe said of her set:
"Misstress Barbara had the entire Slinky Techno arena gob smacked from the initial opening of her set. Not only did her beauty and charisma floor every punter in the room, but also her technical perfection, unbelievable track selection and crowd puppetry wooed the masses. She had two decks running at all times and occasionally mixed on all three decks in a smooth and graceful style. Her set demonstrated an overture of styles and influences, with her sound being hard at times yet pure and smooth, driving and funky. Dropping the funkiest remix of 'Purpose Maker' by Jeff Mills combined with the 80s track 'You Spin Me' by Dead or Alive in the middle of her set sending the crowd in raptures. The Misstress also found it suited to acknowledge the talents of Melbourne's local wonder Astroboy, playing his self-produced track midway in her onslaught! (Congratulations Astroboy!). Mixing it up with the inclusion of minimal, tech house, funk and almost a little electro. Her set was full of passion and driven by emotion and her smile and hand gestures mesmerized the crowd. Not only was she technically and aurally perfect, but she was the crowd’s dream DJ acknowledging their every gesture of pure devotion and admiration. She was indeed the best international DJ- I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing and I walked away from her 2 hour set inspired and speechless."

thx Chunky - great to hear that 5 weeks before I see her at GrooveTech in the desert of Spain :+)

Has anyone heard the Dave Clarke mix of a Fatboy Slim track? It had a Freq Nasty breaks mix on the other side, and was verrry nice!
