Cheers for the feedback Grant. You are correct, I was trying various approaches to mixing in this one. Some I like, some not so much. The last promo I did was mixed in my more 'formulated' style which is pretty consistant throughout. I gather you prefer it ?
I also did this one on Friday night before heading out so I never reviewed it or made any changes.

I like the idea behind what you're mixing is about, but some approaches didn't really work. I think the changes were a bit too exaggerated for me, I like softer more flowing changes that the big shotgun change
