Is it 'cause I is black? Laughing

Seriously... love or hate him, there are plenty of old-school Republicans who would take Powell's endorsement of Obama as the best reason yet to make their mind up and vote for him.

Interesting stuff..

powerpoint presentation on its way

Powells an uncle tom, perhaps he sees some of that action in Obama

Powell sullied his reputation with that UN stunt and redeems himself somewhat now. I think he looks beyond the narrowness of skin colour politics bob-d and tries to see the bigger picture. As we have seen the Dems in billary inc have no fear in stooping to the level of race to garner votes from rednecks.

vadz, what do you think of this? Ex General and former Secretary of State saying Obama is the man for the job? Surely you'll just take the word of a General on this?

maybe so, he's also possibly looking for ways/parties to rekindle his political career

*wonders if we'll see Owen Glen back Act for this years election*

he won't be secretary of state if that's what you're thinking but Obama would no doubt use his experience in some way regardless of his support

Anything else would be insubordination, and punishable as such

Or this:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/chi-chicago-tribune-endorsement,0,1371034.story

A paper founded by a Republican has NEVER, in 150 years, endorsed a Democrat. And blam, they endorse Obama. And sure, they're from Chicago, but still!

Must be locked in now? Needs something HUGE to change it. Did you see the 100,000 people in St Louis? That's a Republican state. Nuts.

I'm waiting for the Freudian slip to occur and McCain refers to President Obama

the mood is for change and change = Obama

a vote for the Republicans = continuation of Bush's legacy

He totally discredits her in the below interview, basically stating that she is not ready to be in any position of power, something that has needed to be said by someone of his stature for a while.

He then goes on to highlight his concerns with the tactics of McCain's campaign, which was even more pleasing to hear than Palin getting the smack down because their somewhat unethical and divisive attacks have really nailed down my own support for Obama.

Before Palin's selection and before Bill Ayres and Reverend Wright were made legitimate talking points by the GOP I could have almost stomached McCain as President but not after.

The run up has forced each side to show their true colours and its pretty obvious to anyone with a little common sense that America can not afford to let McCain and especially Palin anywhere near the White House, not this time and not with the mess Bush will be leaving behind.

Those of you who watched the 2nd TV debate, Obama vs McCain, must have noticed that McVain walked aimlessly around, while Obama sat strong and smart. What really was going on, I've been told, was that John McVain was walking around trying to find his GPS so he could relocate either his seat or rollator.

So, there you are, who said McVain is fit to be president, or even assistant in an apple pie shop? And, to all the Your Views contributors who reckon I'm simply fit and young and just full of spite and hatred toward useless octogenrian, John McVain - thanks a zillion. I love you all very much as it made me all of ten years younger, or more, though my kids will probably tell you otherwise.

And, incidentally, I do not hate John McCain, as I don't even know him personally but find him and his Palinator an extremely unlikely presidential pair. Because the US needs fixing urgently, not getting deeper into the quicksand.

Nobody has yet told me what exactly needs "fixing" in the US

If the US needs "fixing" every other country needs it even more.

I'm sure if you put your mind to it Vads you could think of some things that need fixing

lets start with the military - they need to learn how to win a war Very Happy
