Have ya noticed that how most of the products that are made in Taiwan or are sold here a real cheaply made they either break in the first week of purchase..
[quote]
i know that products from china break easily
[quote]
I'll bet those semiconducters in your computer don't break that easily. Very Happy

yea products from china a crap. u know they make japanese import cars from other car materials that wernt up to standard, then ship em off to lil ol new zealand.

It almost sounds like you know what your talking about advocatz.

Ask a panel beater about the (austrailian made) fords, the ones that are getting rust repair while still under warranty. Some of the new XR8's are in for rust repair after 15 months. Japanese cars on the whole provide a high standard of technology, good crash protection (in each class) at a reasonable price.

Otherwise any of you heard the expression you get what you pay for? if you spend the money youll hopefully get better quality, but thats not always the case and you might find a $2 chinese part will do the same job as a $50 austrailian or american part. If it breaks 10 times as much as the more expensive part your still saving money.

Indeed. I have a set of awesome cheap-ass 195/50R15 Nankang NS1's on my Civic and they're going strong. They'e chinese made, and a mate of mine reckons they go as well as the Falken's that they are an imitation of. At 60% the price probably - they cost my $150 each.

Anyway, don't be so quick to write off Taiwanese and Chinese stuff, sure some is crap, but they make a hell of a lot of important equipment there now, and do a good job at some stuff. There are good taiwwanese companies and bad ones - it's not fair to lump the entire country's industry into one category!

Having said that, I did snap my taiwanese made mountainbike chain today and am looking for someone to blame...

see now u guys are getting off the topic. i was refering to Taiwain, not japanese, or china there both totaly different countries.
and yea japanese people make da bomb cars too, thats why im getting an Mits EvO3=)
go the japs and china.

I was talking about both Taiwan AND China. Seems on topic to me(?).
[quote]
im sorry but the topic says "cheap products" not taiwan ok
[quote]
FYI taiwan is part of china. Thats what the ROC after taiwan stands for - Republic of China. Smile

I think it stayed on topic more than most threads do, until you complained about it.
[quote]
Not entirely true. ROC = Republic of China, and is the name for a separate government entirely from the People's Republic of China (PRC) that rules mainland China. The ROC was formed when the communists took over mainland China. Taiwan is considered a renegade province by the communists in the PRC, and independently governs itself as a separate country. That's my understanding anyway - and now we're /really/ off topic!

Not only is he a hardware/car nerd - hes a geopolitical historian!

Shut your mouth, motherfucker. *grins* I blame the internet. I was reading a story about Taiwan's economic history the other day and it had a bit about the communist influence. That's the only reason I know anything. Smile

And it's about all I know as well. *laughs*
