So I've been alternating between running and gym-going. Last week I decided to finally kick the cardio element from my gym routine because I don't really enjoy it, it takes away from my strength for weights and um... well I run anyway.

But now I'm wondering... how easy is it to replace the gym with doing weights at home?

Now I'm going to be a full-time worker again so I'll have to go at peak times, sort of cbf with that anymore.

What would I need? I don't have lots of room so, y'know, a bowflex (Razz) would be out of the question. Dumbbells for a start I guess. Or am I just better off sucking it in and going to the gym?

Maybe it's time to get back into a martial art instead.

To me going to the gym is essential. I could never work out at home. Few reasons for it: I actually feel like leaving the house; equipment that I use at the gym I could never afford to have in the house; palates and yoga classes; specific fitness classes, which can not be replicated at home; the social aspect of it, cause I have few mates go to the same gym; eye candy Cool.

Very Happy

Just to reinforce how bad the Bowflex is, a friend of mine bought one and put it up for sale the next day as even on the highest resistance level it was too easy, this guy wasn't much bigger than me as well.

No go Bowflex. It's the devil. Home equipment in general feels so tinny it's not funny.

You could do an Arnold and go into the woods with a squat rack and do heaps of squats and bodyweight exercises.

Just suck it up, or find a quieter gym Froggy

heh, bad example. I sorta just meant home gym.

Your right tragic, I might just suck it up. Until the end of the year anyway, then re-evaluate my options.
