LOL Piers Morgan gives advice to 3 time Premier League winning manager Arsene Wenger on what he should approach the Barcelona game. Several points of lol:
* Describing Bojan as a monster?!?! Little Bojangles, not much bigger than Messi...
* Describing Valdes as the weak link and gaffe prone? Remind me who is in goal for Arsenal? Plus Valdes has been in exceptional form this season (hoping I haven't jinxed him) and has improved against the high ball immeasurably.
* Whip endless crosses into the box for Bendtner as Barcelona are not a tall side... Bendtner 1.94m - Pique 1.93m hardly a towering height advantage, the small team thing especially falls flat when you consider the tallest player on the pitch will be Zlatan at 1.95m against Campbell at 1.88m.
* Starting Walcott on the right - if you're going to whip endless crosses into the box then I would suggest opting for a player who can actually cross rather than just one who can run fast.
* Song must play sweeper in front of the front four - youi mean just like he's done all season - massive tactical insight there.
* Xavi and Iniesta are not as quick as Fabregas, Rosicky, and Nasri - first of all Iniesta is out for the first leg and will likely be replaced by Keita or Yaya who are both very quick. Secondly if that trio is going against the Barcelona midfield then where does Song fit?
* Clichy to stick to Messi like glue - the same Clichy that couldn't handle Nani and has been badly out of form? Man marking him with one player would be the worst possible approach as Messi likes to wander and will drag him all over the pitch leaving a huge whole on the left of Arsenal's defense. It only worked for Chelsea because they had two men man marking him at all times and a formation resembling 4-3-1-1-1 with three defensive midfielders
Hope this does't come across as being critical of Arsenal or their chances as despite us being favourites I'm very aware that Arsenal have a great chance of winning the tie. But someone linked me to this article and Piers Morgan's comments and advice is well and truly laughable, stick to judging talent shows chump.
