That couldn't have gone much better for us, Rubin Kazan's draw with Dinamo Kiev was the best possible result for us. For the neutral it's a terrible bet. Liverpool haven't shown anywhere enough consistency and have been dropping points/ conceding home goals to below Europa League quality opposition at home.

Hope this does't come across as being critical of Arsenal or their chances as despite us being favourites I'm very aware that Arsenal have a great chance of winning the tie. Sacrificing the extra man in midfield to switch to a 4-4-2 with 1-0 lead away from home in the first leg of a two legged match? WTF? Yes he may have been trying to kill the game off but 1) it wasn't as if Bayern were on the ropes and waiting for a knock out punch and 2) he already hd a 1-0 away from home which would have been a massive advantage to take back to OT as it was.

I'm really dumb founded because as I said before I can't remember SAF ever getting it so wrong part way through a game - all managers make mistakes with pre-match tactics but for him to make such a mistake with 20 minutes to go was really bizarre.

Barcelona made Arsenal look like amateurs. I'm not afraid to admit it. We somehow snatched a 2-2 draw but barring a miracle there's no way Arsenal can get past Barca at the Nou Camp. I should have bet money on Barca earlier in the season to win the league again but ah well.

It was funny, you guys got a lot better once you pushed your defensive line up in the second half and reduced the space for us to play in, but we got two goals as a result when Ibra got in behind them... We've got yet another CL game with half our first choice defence missing but Cesc and Gallas are definitely out (possibly for thr season) and Arshavin is a major doubt as well. I think we suffered from not killing it in the first half though, as we pressed so hard that we were buggared with 20 to go, then Walcott scored and you guys got your confidence up and finsihed the game very strong. Disappointed not to win but I would have taken 2-2 before the game and at the end I was a little worried you guys might actually steal a win.

How good was Almunia in the first half though? I thought it was Buffon in disguise until about 20 seconds into the second half. That first half was as good as I ever seen us play though.
