Catalyst Closing down?? Concord Dawn playing last night???

I hear a rumour that Catalyst is closing down (Basement only)and that Concord Dawn are playing this Friday 25th August as like a fairwell to the old haunt.

Anyone else heard anything about this? If its true we all better make an appearance and give it a final send off just like the old days.

Please correct me if im wrong? At least it would be an excuse for all the sad sacks (including myself) to get out and have a good night.

as to it closing down, I dont have a clue.

but yes Concord Dawn and Minuit are playing there this coming friday, tickets are $22 at tracs

What a place its been!
The highs, the lows, and where evrybody has gone since.

Im quite happy to see the end of an era. Time for somehting new in hams.. and people who actually care bout their club!

Maybe a club finally that gets owners that know what they doing and dont single handedly kill a scene!

so how did this final night go in the end?

was it like old times?

I was into it, tho people I talked to gave mixed responces.

I thought Miniut were Excellent.

And Kiljoy allways delivers, his set was full of dawn tunes and the Highlight form me was Beefy & Taz remix.

Well as long as people had fun.

I didn't attend but last time I was there (a few weeks ago) they had no eftpos (hadn't paid their bill apparently), no top shelf, Bacardi or Jager and a very limited selection of beer left...

Not much effort was being placed into keeping things gawn..... they may have stocked things up for the last night though.

For me personally I just get depressed when I go there these days and would rather remember it when it was in its prime, rammed full of punters etc...

RIP the basement...

Just to clear the confusion here, CATALYST is now under new management and it looks like they are finally making an effort to bring it back up to a top standard.

Ive been down there last week and talking to the new owners looks like they have some very exciting changes planned for the place.

Its about time someone who knows how to run a club took over the place, and judging from what ive seen it seems to be on track to its former splendor again.
