Car shuddering

I have a 91 familia hatchback and 80% of the time as I accelerate my car begins to shudder. itstops the moment i take my foot off the accelerator.

Also sometimes as i turn corners or change lanes it feels like it is pulling.

It has gotten slowly worse. Any idea on what this may be?

Check Injectors, Fuel lines, spark plugs and leads

well i just had a complete full service 6 weeks ago, i know the spark plugs were changed

Wheel alignment or play in your steering mechnism? (Could be called a tierod)

Does it shudder under braking?

no not my braking....hmm havent had a wheel alignment since i got the car 8 months ago.


though i was on the motorway earlier today and as i accelerated and the car began to shudder, there was a slight noise coming from my steering wheel.

If it was the tierod, is that a major?

I had this happen to my GTR Familia and it was the fuel lines.. However it was quite a shake and it happened suddenly instead of being continuous from low to high revs..

Since its getting worse turn the tyres fully one way and check the tread and see if its wearing one way..

engine mount??

is it auto or manuel, if auto easy put foot on brake, put car in gear then load theengine with foot hard on the brake til about 2000 rpm. is there a big clunk or shudder, if so engine mount is fucked
