Can you not get sml ext harddrives now?

Been trying to find a small external hard drive - about 200/250gb but all the shops seem to just have mostly 1TB or maybe 500/750gb.. i bought a 750gb one to take overseas with me, but want to back up my photos and music to leave here at home in storage.

trademe seems to be no joy, or otherwise really expensive!

What happens is smaller drives don't keep getting cheaper and cheaper - they hit a certain price point, stay there for a wee while, then they just stop getting made. The smaller ones left in that PriceSpy listing are basically old stock no one wants to buy.

Which is fine when you find the clearance deals though!
