OK, some news... McLaren F1 announced on Monday that they have signed, as their 2nd race driver, Lewis Hamilton. He will be the first 'black' F1 driver.
Pedro De la Rosa will return to his specialty as test driver for McLaren (and reserve driver).
Interesting times ahead for F1.
Can McLaren turn their reliability around? They have lightning quick cars (usually taking a few races to get going each season), but in the 2006 season failed to win a single race for first time since 1996.
Will the pairing of Alonso - two times world champion and absolute dream driver in so many ways - and Hamilton - who has never driven an F1 race - be a good one? I think they'll be relying a lot of De la Rosa's support of Hamilton.
Kimi, on the other hand, is off to Ferrari. McLaren haven't released him yet so he can't test until next year... Will Ferrari have a change of fortunes post-Schumy? Their technical director, Ross Brawn, and engine designer for nine years have also left the team....
Nothing will become of Massa despite him stating he thinks he can win the driver's world championship
Anyone thinking about Melbourne at all? I'm putting together a crew to go over for the race.
