So yeah basically I have a 15" Macbook Pro with DVI out and am trying to choose between these 2 external displays.

Samsung 2443BW Black 24" Widescreen ($585)
1920x1200
20,000:1
300cd/m2

LG L246WHX-BN Black 24" Widescreen ($530)
1920x1200
5,000:1
400cd/m2

I do a lot of photo editing/design so am currently leaning towards the Sungsung for colour accuracy ~ also because it's fucking sexy.

The Sungsung only has a DVI input (which doesn't really bother me because it supports HDCP so if I did want to hook up my PS3 to it I can just buy an adapter) but on the other hand, The LG only has HDMI and VGA in, I have a DVI > VGA adapter that came with my MBP but does anyone know if this would effect the quality?

Any advice appreciated Very Happy

Driving 24" thru VGA is going to look like shit. I have to use VGA on my 22" at work as my laptop only has VGA out and I get shimmering carry on. Stick with DVI.

But come on, you know nothing is going to look as good as this:

Ignore the $1700 pricetag, it calls to you! :>

I should add I have no complain of any Samsung product that I've had. Bunch of older LCD's at work haven't missed a beat, I treat my old Samsung phone like shit (actually throwing it around on the ground to prove it's durability) so I'd say go with that. Prolly onsite warranty too?

Hahahaha fuck I'd totally buy it if I had a spare 6 or 7 grand to upgrade (seeing as the new cinema display ONLY works with the unibody Macbook Pro's and I've got the old series) Sad

Went and checked out some similar ones at JB just before, the samsung is banging (fuck buying it at JB though it's $800 bucks!!) needs more frixle discount yahyahyah?! <3 hahaha

Going to hit up playtech tomorrow, be massively annoying and make them rearrange all the screens for MASSIVE side by side action.
