Busted? IPOD question

Mine is playing ok but suddenly doesnt pick up in the headphones. Ive tested the headphones on another device and they are fine. is this a common problem/something that is just messed up in settings?

What exactly is the headphone issue? It doesn't know they're in the headphone port? iPod headphone jacks are notoriously shit, is it quite loose too?

Ya it just plays on through its speakers like it doesnt recognise the headphones are in. I have an IPOD nano. The Jack seems fine but its just a small hole so I dont see how it could be loose as such

youre right it was a hardware issue , and yes it was under warranty... so I got a brandnew one. pretty sweet as I was worried all the dents and nicks on it might void the warranty. I hate the protective cover I got with it so dont use it
