Happy New Year Smile

ah man, just got back last night from one of those trips you wish you'd never gone on. realised before I'd even left that I didn't want to go, but got sucked along, which was easy because it sucked so mightily. on the plus side I've developed a healthy appreciation for overtaking, but why is it that everyone seems to speed up for passing lanes and then slow right down again? I wouldn't mind if they'd just drive that fast the whole time, but why can't they just admit they're holding everyone up and let them past?

so yeah, went up to the north island, got as far north as te kuiti (almost), found lots of cold weather, came home and it's warm as. go figure. (I know, it was freezing down here while I was away)

go back to work on monday, d'oh. feels like a distant memory at the mo - only been out for a week and a half.

hope everyone's well, catch ya

Happy New Year!

Thanks for the christmas card Smile

Who did you go away with? Omen and i did nothing for new years (how it should be Wink) I worked all of last week... oh and catch this, i went to the doctor on Monday and i have a sprained wrist. So i'm officially on ACC although i might work anyway, its not too bad, i just got it incase i felt it was getting worse.

My sister is being SO annoying in the lead up to the wedding. I had my final dress fitting yesterday, and i'm stoked. I LOVE it, i look sooooooo good - maybe because there was a huge difference in the daggy clothes i went into to this gorgeous long dress. I'm really looking forward to the wedding... I fly up next Wednesday and i have 3 hens nights to look forward too.

Hmmm what else has been happening, oh year Damian and I had our 1 year anniversary, now that's some freaky stuff.

I'll fire you a text to see what you're up to for the next few nights, maybe we can catch up for a drink. Smile

Hey you!

Well i just got back from the wedding, it was great! Smile
There were a few small hiccups, but in general everything went well and it was a brilliant day.
I was probably as nervous as my sister walking up the aisle, i walked up with the flowergirl, and thankfully Dee (what a lengend) mouthed to me "You look beautiful" somehow those three words got me up the aisle. We walked down the aisle to Highland Cathedral, and we walked out to Sign Sealed delivered.
I started crying!! Hell no, i hadn't had my make up professionally done just to cry it off Wink Ahhh yes, the ceremony was lovely, it was a catholic ceremony, but there wasn't a full mass, and the priest was wonderful.
The bridal party then had pics at the Art of Cheese which was hurried through cause we really just wanted to get back to the reception and get the party started. My sister and brother in law Wink walked into the reception venue to sign sealed delivered. Then they cut the cake and we sat down for speeches, mine was the last of the formal speeches as i had telegrams to read, and quite a lot of them too!!! After that there were to be informal speeches but the formal ones had taken too long so we went for dinner, then informal ones. I must admit everyone that spoke did a really good job!!!
Then the party got started and we danced the night away, BRILLIANT!!! I had a great time dancing and really enjoyed catching up with everyone. Damian had to get someone to ward others off just to have a dance with the bridesmaid!! Well there was 120 people there (lots to talk too).
The highlight being the boys wonderful strip show to YMCA.
At the end of the night (which ended too early) we piled onto the busses and headed off, any open bottles of wine in hand Wink Ahhh all class. We wanted to know where the after party was at, well the 5 of us young ones staying at my parents place ended up having a party on the stairs for a while before getting into bed.

What a brilliant day!
Later i shall post about the hens night and the next day bbq Wink

Ah it was good to see you dude Smile

We should do that more often. Well maybe not take so much of a long lunch break, or you might get in trouble.

I became a class rep today, bloody hell, what is this geekiness that's come over me? Haha. I still havn't missed a class. And oh boy i didn't realise you could learn so much when you went off and did extra work (not that i do *hides huge geek glasses*) anyway i should go.... my stupid course reader only came in today so i need to catch up on my reading.

cool pics Smile

I remember at Fran's wedding I had a real camera, and they make that not-so-discrete click-whirr sound, felt pretty gumpy taking photos. hooray for digital.

so yeah, I'm finally replying, spurred into action by your email Smile

work's going ok. pretty busy at the mo, cos the 2 people who know most about the stuff I'm working on are away, and everyone's asking me questions about things I know nothing about...

eep, testers coming knocking...
[quote]
By the time you managed to reply i've managed to miss a class. Well a few, i think 4 classes so far?! Not too bad, cause i did get sick so i missed a couple due to that. One was due to slackness though, the lecture was going to be really tedious and i just couldn't handle it.

So busy at the moment, i have so many assignments/tests, sucks, have 1 down and 3 more to go before the holidays, along with all the weekly assessment i have, lab stuff and notes hand in.

And to make it worse, Sally is coming down on Saturday, not that i'm not thrilled about it, but final week of term, i have two assessments next week, one is a test so i can't get it out of the way early.

I didn't take a camera to my sisters wedding, i left it up to others to do it for me Wink The guy that was taking the 'professional' pics camera went spaz so that kinda sucked Smile

My parents are in Rarotonga as Sunday was their 30th Wedding Anniversary. Damn thats a long time, i did the right thing and bought them chocolates and stuff, i think mum would appreciate the pearls she's meant to receive... but i think dad would prefer something edible Wink

*bump*

hahaha. still alive and kicking.

when are we going to do our Auckland catch up? we've been up here for two and a half months now.
[quote]
I had to "grant temporary access" for that!

Hahahahaha...

I really shouldn't be on here at work!

Yes, what should we do... well 9th May is last day at my other job. So we could do something then?

Rarotonga? Mmmm just booked Rarotonga and Aitutaki (not main island, we're doing it survivor cook island styles) for our honeymoon. Only costing 7.5k! Smile
[quote]
yeah, and I had to spend about an hour trying to find this thread! google doesn't like it for whatever reason.

Raro sounds good. we tried booking that for ours but we'd left it way too late. how long are you going for? Vanuatu was still fun anyway.

we just found a flat in Western Springs, moving in tomorrow. I think it'll be nice to live somewhere other than work...

and yep any time is fine.
[quote]
Western Springs? Hmmmmmmmmm

What do you want to do?

I'm really surprised there are no smart ass comments. I might have to keep the thread alive now...
[quote]
this thread will never die. (although apparently subsonic has... maybe it's time to migrate.)

Must be time for a catch up soon! You still have not met Miss Isla. I'm so going to read this one day when I get a chance....
