Lots of undercuts going down on NZ's Next Top Model. I can remember rocking those back in 92/93. hah...
[quote]
undercuts on girls are disgusting. I'm not surprised there are so many on NZ's Next Top Model.

[quote]
Haven't seen NZNTM, but undercuts look good on the right wimminz! Very Happy

cleavage and nice eye make up aside, her haircut is still really ugly & she would look a lot better with a different style.

Plus she has the biggest forehead on Planet Earth

that is a sign of intelligence Razz

I don't think the haircut is ugly, it looks interesting on the right person. But on some people it just makes them look like an indie wanker.

Also lol at people who think that modeling has anything to do with beauty.

So you're saying modeling has nothing at all to do with beauty? Razz

While certainly not ugly, lots of models appear to be very plain, would you not agree? But it's that quality (I've been told) that allows them to be sculpted into whatever look is required for the shoot.
[quote]
oh btw, ew on the undercut thing.
[quote]
I'd say the opposite smiley, most high fashion models are unique looking rather classically beautiful

Yes agree, sometimes. But plain faced or not, when modeling, the end goal is to make them look beautiful, most of the time.

High end fashion is about having an interesting look which photographs really well. Beauty has nothing to with it.

Many many many many beautiful women have tried and failed to become successful models because in the fashion world, beauty by itself is boring. You need to have more. Every time a discussion about ANTM pops up, someone inevitably complains that x shouldn't have been kicked out because they are so much prettier than y. It doesn't matter. It's about being "interesting" not beautiful.

Also I'm going to preempt the obvious reply here and point out that Victorias Secret modeling is not high end fashion.
[quote]
beau·ty
1. A combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, esp. the sight.

Plus lots of high end fashion is about beauty and looking interesting, they're not mutually exclusive. I agree with a lot of what you say above, but i definitely disagree with saying modeling has nothing to do with beauty at all.
[quote]
Oh you didn't just resort to some dictionary definition did you!
[quote]
haha Razz
[quote]
Oh he went there. Razz

Ok maybe not "nothing" to do with beauty but it certainly isn't about being beautiful. An interesting look will take a model further than beauty ever will.

what they don't sleep their way to the top?

wtf execs...

I think it's only something really pretty/eclectic kind of girls can get away with.

I wouldn't even attempt it..mad props to those who have balls to have that kind of hairstyle though.

Mad props to girls with balls? blower

I think Issy on NZNTM suits it. Plus it's not really you're typical boyish undercut isn't it..Those things usually had greasy wannabe skater boy hair straggling over the top of it.
Definitely looks hot on the right girl.
[quote]
Since we're talking hair, guys over 30 with spikey hair... Neutral

Act you age and get a hair cut that matches, you ain't 18 and you can't pull off spikes anymore.

I'm referring to full on spikes of an inch or longer here, not neatly slicked ones with some shape to them.
[quote]
Also it's not 2002, the spikey look is well past it's used by.
[quote]
they will be back

get in early and lead the pack I say

*over 30 with spiked hair and an undercut*
