Aside from Brent Arnel I think those are good changes and show the selectors now have some OK talent to pick from, without relying on past reputations for success. Styris obviously a bit hard done by, but let's be honest his stats over a career as long as his don't reflect a good return for the Black Caps, and we have a new troop of batsmen to take us through the next 3-5 years that I think will do reasonably well.

Bowling will continue to be a problem though, especially with Butler & Bond being so old and both so injury prone. Look to them to only play 50% of their games together I'd suggest.

Casting an eye over that list for expelled players, its difficult to make a case for any of them to be dirty about it. With the possible exception of Redmond, bit even that is slight

Styris is clearly at the end of his career and destined for nothing but 20/20 carnivals. He doesnt want to play tests

Fulton and How while showing a lot of promise early have failed time and time again. What is it with our batsmen that can shine so brightly then fade ie Hamish Marshall. They used to actually often start abysmally then improve ie The Crowes/Rudders etc. Its a double sghame in Hows case as he is probably one of the top 10 fielders in the world

I really like Gillespe but again way too inconsistant, never liked Mason GTFO with his "action" vadz....he sucks
