Obviously a Hip-Hop Hick - Gang Starr had one of the biggest crowd responses of any Hip Hop act to grace Auckland, Guru was down with the gig so much they're putting extended footage of the event on the tour DVD they're making. Every one I've talked to since then has said it was indeed one of the best hip hop internationals.
Blackalicous were indeed amazing, although after going both nights I couldn't help but think Gab was a little tired of touring and alot of times acted like he knew he was the shit (which indeed as a lyricist he is). Infact was he 'the shit' so much that he couldn't be bothered making it to sound check? DJ X-Cel looked like he should have had a matress behind the decks so he could actually lie down - instead of standing there asleep. Thank the lordy for Latif - oh and the sets were bang on the same with the same encores too..... Gang Starr did 4 encores and had scheduled on 1.... who was into which gigs?
