wtf is with just chipping catches back to the cunts?

3 6's from Tuffey impressive. Shame no one could string a proper innings together... again. *sigh*
[quote]
It was a frustrating watch, just as someone started looking good they would chip a stupid catch

Rain has arrived...hopefully that means the DL might shaft Aussie like it did us the last game. Or does that fact we were bowled out in ~45 overs mean the DL screws US?
[quote]
Will there still be a game tonight? I am looking over at the city at the moment and it's still looking pretty dark.
[quote]
Ok. 34 overs. Target of 200.

That will probably be too easy for Aus ...can we have the rain back please?
[quote]
Bizarre, no comment from anyone on our victory last night???

I didn't see the game live thanks to SkyTVs ghey policies.

[quote]
What policies are those?

Decent enough game - always nice to see that strong Aussie batting lineup blow out. Although we did get given 2 ridiculous wickets. I'd be pretty ropey if I was Punter after that clanger.

Skippy into the test unit. Hmmm.

Probably because it was on Sky Sport 2 due to the rugby.

UHF sky is being switched off soon isn't it?

Well, we have a lodge down here in QT, and each room has its own decoder with 3 sky channels, running off sky digital. As much as i'd like those channels to be SS1, SS2 & Trackside, from a guest perspective it's not going to happen. Although, I had a domestic cricket commentator staying here over the last 4 nights and he couldn't watch the game on Sat. from his room.

Fuck sky!!!

Harvey, where did you hear about the UHF thing?

Spokesman Tony O'Brien said that, by yesterday afternoon, all but about 100 Sky subscribers had switched to its satellite television service

That's certainly a crucial part of it yes. I also think that our chances of scraping out a draw aren't terrible Razz

UHF has already been switched off, as stupid as it is for Sky to show cricket on SS2 while they show Golf replays on SS1 it really doesn't matter now.

Here we go, first ball about to be bowled.

Phil Hughes in for Shane Watson. Ryan Harris and Brent Arnel making their debuts.

What is it with Ponting and winning tosses? this is unbelievable!

if we can get katich out within the next ten overs, its all on

You sound like a fkn commentator Interbreed. Can't stand it when they say random crap like that Razz
It's all on anyway. If we get him in 15 overs is it really going to make much of a difference?
Or if we get 3 other wickets but not Katich? :Razz
[quote]
it katch stays in for another ten overs, hell have about 70* and be set. hell be able to attack the bowlers and let the new batsmen (clarke at the moment) do their thing and rotate strike.

id much rather clarke/north out there within 30 minutes then katich/north
[quote]
He has 51.. he's already set. You speak like our only shot is getting him out in 60 balls and otherwise they're just cruising to inevitable victory Razz There's hundreds/thousands of ways this could go down..
[quote]
The radio commentators aren't exactly talking like he's set. He's run Ponting out and they are saying he's been quite tentative at times. Apparently Martin coming round the wicket at him caused him some problems as well.

Having said that. Aussie are still going to get a big score. They've still got 3 guys in the shed that could get plenty of runs.

All out for 438, heard it here first.

[quote]
Wouldn't it have been easier to say the names of the 4 people you want to drop instead of the 7 that you want to keep? Haha.

Top 3 is always going to be fragile - there simply aren't really any better options. Even Williamson, if picked, has no business batting in the top 3. That's why they've picked Sinclair in the squad. As much as I hate it, this is pretty close to our best test team. We just aren't up to scratch against quality opposition like this.

Hauritz to McCullum, no run, full ball hits the foot marks and turns sharply from outside the off stump, McCullum doesn't offer a shot and the ball thuds into his front pad. Huge appeal but not given, the decision is referred and it looks like McCullum is safe as 'virtual' is not available because the cameras have been taken down due to the wind

L O L !!!!! Laughing

Yeah, on the radio they were saying not all the virtual cameras are up because when the wind is over 100km/h hawkeye is not reliable.

Fuck playing cricket in conditions like that. It can't be pleasant out there.

Simple catch dropped in the slips by McIntosh. Neutral
[quote]
nothing simple about it ... he hardly got a hand to it.

Music
[quote]
Both the radio and cricinfo said it was simple. They had a discussion on the radio about how he got himself in the wrong position to take a slip catch by going into the long barrier?
[quote]
cricinfo didn't say anything about it being simple?

12.2 Arnel to Hughes, no run, dropped full ball angling across finds a thick outside edge and flies to McIntosh who only gets a finger to the ball at second slip
[quote]
Maybe I got muddled up with that they were saying on the radio then. Cos they all definitely thought it was a simple chance.

These guys are just taking the piss now Neutral

As predicted - outclassed, outplayed and outsmarted at pretty much every turn.

NZ 564 for 20 wickets...
Aus 565 for 5 wickets.

Might as well have been an innings defeat - such was their superiority in every facet. I suppose We'll be talking about how we took them to the 5th day or whatever, but it's a crock. Batsmen with poor technique and poor attitudes, and slow unthreatening bowlers.

I wish we didn't suck so much at tests, but that's just the way it is.

Neutral

gc.
[quote]
yes we were outclassed - but they're way better than us?

I think there's quite a bit of positivity to take from this. Our bowlers were quite disciplined on day 1, some good scores from the middle/lower order etc... Tonne of room for improvement but was pretty enjoyable watching imo.
[quote]
Tuffey has a broken hand, and won't be playing the next test.

Right so who do we call up?

Anyone?
