Sad Well, I woulda considered going, but i'm gonna be in Thailand. Can't say I'm familiar with any of the overseas names, tho Marshall-K rings a faint, muffled bell. It's a brave man that ventures onto K'Rd nowadays... Very Happy

Sure many of you have not heard these names in NZ before. Look at it this way in NZ you only follow what seems to be the UK scene and the techno culture if you will is just not limited to the UK. From what I gather its been a minute or two since there was a true techno party here in NZ.

Heres another way to look at things you dont want to miss a night of jacking music and see artist playing that are at the front of the line in the US scene and the BEL scence. The truth of the matter is only a small handful of people here in Auckland even know who the real movers and shakers are in the techno world. Point being this is not a party to be missed and come DEC, JAN watch out !!!!!!! Also sept 27th will be an all Detroit line up.......

Have a ?'s about these people post them...... Music

I was not trying to imply that that Kiwi technofiles are a bunch of slags. I was making general statements as to the state of affairs. Chunky I know that you are up on whats new and exciting in the world of techno. Would be great if you came out to hear a night of really great tracks and see people that should rock your SAT. Music

yes, well said chunky..
i think most of us are well aware that there is more (much more) to techno than the UK. . in fact as far as contemporary techno i think the UK is a little further down the list than you rate it..

are there any links or web sites you can post that will shed some light on these dj's you are bringing over. i keep my ears fairly close to the ground as far as international techno goes and i have never heard of them.

Amber Reyn

Biography:
Amber Reyn first got into house music in New York at 15, when a neighborhood kid moved in and shared his house tapes.A telling introduction, she abducted all of them. That was all that she listened to until she was old enough to hit the clubs in the flesh.
While studying computer science at the University of Florida, she became immersed to underground clubs and parties.
Inspired to try mixing with her friends' records and equipment, she soon found music as a way of life, part of culture being developed through sound.
After moving into Corporate America post-college, Amber continued her eclectic love of music as part of her night life despite the aggressive Fortune 500 environment she was surrounded in by day. However, born from that competitive experience, she learned to speak her mind and come forward to prove herself beyond the norm. That determination has helped in her discipline and motivation in being one step ahead in her music.
Her sounds range from techy to funky to old school. A blend of smooth house with a sexy seductive flow to miniamal glitchy pop with a climax into a hard banging tech house or techno, underlined with a love for heavy bass lines. The feedback from an energized crowd, forgetting where they are and the constraints of reality, creates the freedom of expression and dance that inspires Amber Reyn to blow out the speakers.
As Amber Reyn continues to grow and develop as a seasoned DJ, with her unique style and personality, she intends to play more domestically and internationally, dedicate time in the studio for production, and head back to New York where family and a jet jaunt to Europe call.

Okay, on that Amber Reyn website, who can name the tracks? The first one that starts playing, I know I've got, sounds like maybe Swayzak on Forcetracks (?). Clicking on the right arrow brings up one I've never heard, but it is tasty. Anyone know it?. Right arrow again brings up the brilliant "Beau Mot Plage" by Isolee. The one I'm really interested in the last one, clicky mid-high accents, and a beautiful synth wash underneath. Anyone know what it is????

I take offence to that as there are *true* techno stuff going on here on a monthly basis, just because they arent advertised or in your face doesnt mean they arent there....

some people, like Phatstack (God bless his soul) do make great efforts to bring techno back to the public, with great success...

Matt Drake also hosted a few of his own techno gigs (anyone remember Hardsoul?)...

I dont think you've been here long enough to make that statement.

Actually, you'd be surprised how many people actually know who the movers and the shakers are...you dont see or meet them because they dont generally hang out to various clubs and house gigs...

What I'd like to know is what is so successful about the label *Sniper Recordings?* if it has never had any releases on it???
[quote]
And yes, I'll definatly make an appearance...always nice to see new gigs...

and I'm sorry if the previous post offended, I just think that if someone is to promote their gigs, going on about how people dont know stuff or make false statements about stuff is NOT the way to do it...

IMHO
