biggie problem viewing profile

When I try and view my biggie preferencesI see the following error (and nothing else)

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /www/biggie.co.nz/htdocs/forum/includes/usercp_register.php on line 53

i think they need to fix line 53

I get this kinda of thing all the time on my site. I change something, and it stops something else working. I just don't bother to test stuff properly...
