Gotta say, that's one of their better ones recently Laughing

Wonder where the inspiration came from?! :badteeth:

Anyone remember the old Cocktail Corner one from back in the day? Where the Real Estate agent was showing the couple round the flat?

Couple: This looks delapidated
Real Estate Agent: It's rustic
Couple: Is that... Is that a RAT???!!!
Real Estate Agent: With views of the local wildlife...

Used to be my absolute favourite until the: "You know... Most people prefer some kind of fuuuusion..." Accomodation guide ad.
[quote]
My favourites were the old jazz ads.
[quote]
Much love for the b ads. I like their stated policy that they absolutely will not play any ad not of their production - the closest they've got is revoicing existing campaigns, even then they sound funnier!

Unfortunately they have watered down that a little bit, they played a vodafone ad recently and an AK city council roadworks one - that was so fucking lame it was almost a piss take in itself though "gidday, Cory the road cone here, the good dudes at the AK city council.." Sickening!

Is that latest switched on gardener ad their script? That is quite funny too Smile
[quote]
do show promos count? the ones for chris the lawyer have always been funny.

is wallace chapman still involved?
[quote]
I think he buggered off when he got ousted from breakfast. Then the ads went shit for a while, but the talent has been slowly brewing up again at bfm imo.

Its interesting to observe the two ads for the same client that are on b and George right now, the government trying to get students to apply for their loans for next year. Same scenario, almost similar script, just b's is subtly over the top and hilarious.

George could learn a lot from b, or just headhunt its creative team.
[quote]
yeah, that hydroponic wardrobe ad a few years ago, I discovered it wasn't a bfm script when I ended up in the same room as a radio tuned to the rock. The difference was huge.

as we all know:
Other radio stations are shit.

Kris... I'm surprised at you... I thought you would have gone for another bfm constructed song first...

What's wrong with Huntly? It's my home country!
[quote]
Best shown on bfm is the cocktail corner!!!
[quote]
well i'm sure tennis ball of love was part of an ad, where what's wrong with huntly wasn't?

i dunno, was a long time ago now. wish i could find my cassingle of it Sad
[quote]
thursday accomodation guide:

"place to share with 2 others, and a cat. hey thats pretty derogatory towards nathan haines!!!"

not that funny i guess, but i still lol
[quote]
yeah the whats wrong with Huntly started off as an ad for Freak the Sheep NZ music show.

Me and a mate would often quote it at my old work when making comments on shit music on ZM:

"Wow that was great, your hot, but the kids want a big sound, like Aerosmith, they were in here last week and they have a really big sound, can you do that? Right, from the top, 1..2.. 3... BURN!

....

Whats wrong with Huntly?..."

It was funnier better cos it was just drums and vocals.

I dunno why bfm haven't digitised all their classic ads and promos from the years and made them available as mp3s.

It was hugh singing on it right?
I seem to remember him saying on air once that he got a royalty cheque for some ridiculously small amount of money from it Laughing

He was great when he did the breakfast show.

Hugh and the Weekenders.

Nick D was actually one of the co-writers as well. Yeah it started life as an ad too. The Tennis Ball of Love thing was done exactly the same way. Smile

Just heard a brutal new ad on B just before a Cheapskates school holidays sale.. totally offensive domestic-violence "piss-take", wouldn't be surprised if it gets pulled Laughing

It plays good music while driving to work. SO i don't really have much choice what dj they had. Dat Barbosa dude is way more onto than him.

Havoc is such a fucking cliche, he is also a fan of the Dali Lama.

Though one good thing I like about him is his views on Israel is not like most liberals.

"Ow! What the fuck guys? I'm just here for the interview!"

Yeah BFM ads are great..

can't say the same for George FM though.. have heard some TERRIBLE ads on that station recently.

I was going to bump this thread this morning as well. The ads on B have gotten a lot better recently.. new creative team perhaps?

Love the "playing favourites" one .."Congratulations to... Ryan! You're our favourite son!"
[quote]
Meanwhile the ads on GeorgeFM (which is becoming more and more unbearable outside of the specialty shows) are some of the worst around. And whoever writes them seems to be fond of riping off slogans from mainstream campaigns (eg. "Everything you need and nothing you don't" for some random thing that wasn't Mizone).
[quote]
george ads are indeed crap. im sick_ of hearing that (lovely im sure) chick they use constantly who pours on the sex kitten voice .. same bird who does the shampoo ad's on telly.

didnt bfm win copious ad awards about a decade or more ago ? didnt that same creative get whipped off to the likes of colenso or some such ?

and havoc FTW

and thursday Drive.... Epic.

[quote]
satdee drive good too
[quote]
I can imagine what it's been like for bfm creatives moving on since year 0:
We love your ads! We want to hire you! Buuut you have to tame them back a bit, we don't allow blah blah blah blah...
result: same crap ads as everywhere else.
